Demo di Kelantan - pro-Umno buat kerja bodoh

6.30 PETANG
-----------------------------------------------------------

Pandailah.
Bernama menulis "lebih 1,000".
Tapi memang betul kata saya, wartawan (termasuk saya) memang gagal teknik mengira ni. Kesian kita semua, jom kita ambil kursus mengira....

Kalau depa kata 1,000, kami bubuh 1,000, kalau kata 50 kami letak 50.
Jadi kalau salah pun orang balun abang polis, bukan kami. Heehee.

1.30 PETANG

---------------------------------------------------------

Saya khuatir salah kira nanti orang tuduh akhbar saya tak sokong Pak Lah pula.

Lepas tu jumpa wartawan tempatan lain, mereka berkata: Kami dah sepakat ada 4,000 orang yang hadir. Pulak.
Saya kata: Aku dah kira banyak kali dah. Tak lebih 2,000 orang. Kalau aku tulis 1,500 malah lebih tepat.
Jawapan mereka sama: Kami semua setuju nak tulis 4,000.
Ah lantaklah, nak menipu diri sendiri.

1.50 petang. DAH BETUL SAYA KATA: Utusan nampak ada "kira-kira 1,000 orang". Siapa pula wartawan depa ni - Rodelio Junjun Taucan (Macam penyanyi Mexico pulak. Jangan marah ya, nanti kita jumpa di Kota Baru).
2.20 petang. Akhbar pro-PAS Siasah kata 50 orang saja yang demo! Hahaha.
Insider kata hampir 200.
3.30 petang. The Star tulis sekurang-kurangnya 1,000 orang.
Agendadaily kata "lebih 1,000". Wow.
Malaysiakini masih senyap.

Kenapa kamu tulis 500?"
Jadi kasihan kami kaum wartawan cari makan, gaji sikit, kontrak pun tak dapat dan belum tahu masuk syurga (sebab tak sokong PAS).
Saya pernah banyak kali menghadiri protest depan US embassy di Jalan Ampang lepas solat Jumaat.

Beliau kata apa pun, hampir semua orang Kelantan kata betul.

Jadi saya agak terkejut apabila geng pro-Umno masuk perangkap buatan sendiri.
Mereka nak adakan demo nak marah Tok Guru hari ini (Selasa). Konon geram kerana beliau serang PM Najib Razak.
Maaf kata: Ini demo kerja bodoh.

Apapun, kita lihat dulu.
Teruskan kerja bodoh mu.

She Must Be Somebody's Baby...

She's So fine....

She's making a snow angel and all.

Happy Holidays On A Monday

The season is upon us. As I love snow, and it will not be snowing here in the desert, I have decided to share snowmen for this holiday season. They are so magical, and we can be a kid at heart, so why not.

Frosty has never been a stranger to any of us, and what better way to start a Monday morning off than with a face like this. I so love her little hat. Have a beautiful Monday morning. If it's snowing where ever you are, stick out your tongue and catch a snowflake or two. Better yet, drop to the ground and make a snow angel.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert, that I so love to call home. Country hugs and much love,

Teksi - Ini boleh dibuat atau omong kosong?

Wah garang betul nampaknya bos LPKP, Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique.
Beliau marah anak buahnya. Memang tepat.

Eh wah eh wah.

Memang dah selalu sangat sang pemandu teksi buat perangai.

Jadi sekarang Kak Limah nak buat benda baru pulak.
Maknanya jika saya komplen saya kena tipu dan tak dapat resit, beliau nak tarik permit?
Saya harap betullah tu. Bukan omong kosong.

Baik saya cerita sikit bagaimana Temasek negara kecik selesaikan masalah ni:

I Got a Virus...Yay.

When they say, "You get what you pay for", they've got a good point. Thusly 'free' blog templates may not actually be free.

Like when they come with a NASTY computer virus attached.

Now I can't say for sure I got the virus from the images I downloaded, but I took them down because that's the only weird thing I've done today that might have infected my computer.

So word to the wise...if it looks shiny and free...it may be tarnished goods.

I'd like to believe that there is a special place in hell for spammers...where they are chained to a keyboard and forced to delete pop ups for eternity. Insert my evil laugh here...

I'll get this place gussied up again when I can get back into my actual computer.

GURUVAYOOR EKADASHI-AN AUSPICIOUS DAY!

MAY LORD GURUVAYOORAPPAN BLESS YOU!
28th,November,2009
1.o5 p.m
Saturday
Dear Friends,
Good Afternoon!
Today is an important day for all of us-GURUVAYOOUR EKADASHI!PARTHASARATHI DAY N GEETHA DAY!
I got up early morning and after the normal routine,I had Thulsi Theertham with bhasmam n chandanam[sandalwood paste].Tomorrow morning instead of Thulsi,I will take rice grains with theertham.then people visit Guruvayoor Temple to offer 'Dwadashi panam'[money to God].
today we are not supposed to have rice.many people do fast today.in GURUVAYOOR TEMPLE,kanji made out of wheat and puzhukku[thick gravy of yam n raw banana]will be offered as prasadam at noon.
the previous day of any religious festival I clarify the doubts with my Amma n send mail to my people reminding them about the important rituals.[a prctice since long.....]:)
Morning I went to Sree Ayyappa Temple and could attend usha pooja[morning pooja].since yesterday there is grand Annadanam in the temple n hundreds of people have the feast from Temple.there is a medical camp arranged by the management committe tomorrow at 9 a.m conducted by Rotract club.then I went to Sri Damodar Temple and a big photo of LORD GURUVAYOORAPPAN is kept there.we don't have Krishna temples in this harbour town n I miss having darshan of Lord Krishna!
I must thank my dear friend,Krish for this wonderful forward on Ekadashi!
Amma used to make us chant the shlokas of BHAGVATH GEETHA daily in the morning!there are shloka chanting competitions now.A big bhagavat Geetha was gifted to me by my Achan n Amma.I still have it.these days in the mornings, I somehow find time to listen to the BHAGAVATHA SAPTHAHAM by Udith Chitanyaji.[Nanda is my source of inspiration].today there is a grand programme in the muncipal hall in Guruvayoor on BHAGAVAT GEETHA in the evening .in Trichur Nanda takes me to the venues of satsang.Achan always used to chant 'OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA!still the chants echo in my ears.

"EKADASI" is a highly auspicious day dedicated to Lord Vishnu on the eleventh day of every lunar fortnight in traditional Hindu calendar. There are 24 Ekadasis in a year and the Vrishchika Ekadasi (Suklapaksha) has got special significance in Guruvayur. Ekadashi that falls in the waxing phase of moon in the Malayalam month Vrishchikam (November – December) is observed as" Guruvayur Ekadasi" in the world famous Guruvayoor Sri Krishna Temple in Kerala – the abode of Guruvayurappan.
Fun & Info @ Girishkumar.tk
Gita Jayanti, also referred as Bhagawad Geetha Jayanthi, is the day when the Bhagvad Gita was rendered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the Kurukshetra on the first day of the famous 18-day battle in the Mahabharata. Gita Jayanthi falls on the Ekadashi day of Shukla Paksha (the bright half) of the Margashirsha month (November-December) in traditional Hindu calendar. In 2009, the date of Gita Jayanti is on November 28.
Bhagvad Gita is the compilation of the teachings of Lord Krishna. This Bhagvad Geeta (Song of the Blessed Lord) contains profound ideas on many issues

touching on the temporal and non-temporal aspects of life.
The greatness of Bhagavad Gita that no other scriptures in this universe can match is her teachings of acquiring the way towards the Supreme without abandoning the worldly affairs, through the methods of Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga and Bhakti Yoga.
The greatest quality of Bhagavad Gita is that it prompts you to think, it prompts you to take decision, and it prompts you to look your individual at life differently and refreshingly and all this without surrendering your invidulaty.

Lord Krishna lived his life by his own famous saying, which can be translated in English, as "Thy right is to work only, but never with its fruits;let not the fruits of action be thy motive, nor let thy attachment be to inaction."
The Gita Mahatmya mentions manifold benefits for those who chant the sacred verses of the Bhagavad Gita. Lord Sri Krishna himself has give numerous assurances to his devotees in the Gita that his devotees will never perish or come to harm.
The ideal way to celebrate Gita Jayanti is by reading at least a stanza from the Bhagavad Gita.

So do Complete Surrender to God, as in this way you shall be free of all tensions of life & shall be at peace & be happy during all walks of life. Below verse of Bhagwat Gita teaches the same.

“sarva-dharman parityajya
mam ekam saranam vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo
mokshayisyami ma suchah"

(Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Eighteen verse 66).
"Sri Krishna said: O Arjuna, Surrender unto Me alone. By surrendering all duties to Me, seek refuge in Me. I shall absolve you of all sins; grieve not."
Be pure. Be virtuous. Be sincere. Apply yourself with firm faith and strength of will. Yield not to beguilements and threats. Move on forward with confidence and determination. You shall succeed in achieving life's Supreme Goal. The Grace of the Almighty is ever with you.
Peace be to you all! May the mighty Grace of Lord Sri Krishna flow through your hearts and prepare you for the memorable regeneration in the Spiritual Consciousness!
"JAI SRI KRISHNA".
Today is the 33rd death anniversary of the famous elephant of Lord Guruvayoorappan,Keshavan.years before on the day of Ekadashi, lying down with the trunk towards the shrine of Guruvayoor Temple, the famous elephant breathed its last.there is a statue of the elephant in the south nada of the Temple.yesterday,on Dashami day, after the pooja of the elephants n feeding them, twentyfive elephants held a procession n the elephant called Padmanabhan garlanded the statue of Guruvayoor Keshavan.Amma has written about the last moments of Keshavan in one of her poems.about Ekadashi also poem is written by Amma.

Aano bhadra krtavo yantu vishwatah.(- RIG VEDA)

Dubai tak boleh bayar hutang, dunia ketakutan

AHAD 7.30MLM
-------------

Salah satu akhbar dunia yang saya gemar membaca ialah The Guardian yang diterbitkan di UK (Numero uno untuk saya ialah International Herald Tribune dan New York Times - keduanya milik syarikat yang sama. Memang pun saya kena baca setiap hari kerana sebahagian dari pekerjaan saya).

Cerita Guardian ni selalu menyakitkan hati - iaitu menyakitkan hari pemerintah dan kerajaan mana yang kena serang. Pandai wartawan depa cari angle kesalahan orang!

"We've all made a pact with the devil to be here. You get the tax-free salary, but in return you have to give up all your rights.
"There's no accountability, no transparency, no rule of law. There's no legislative body. Very few employment rights. It looks like a modern country, but it takes more than a few skyscrapers to create one of those.
"Scratch the surface and it's a different story."

Ang moh dibayar gaji lumayan, dah habis kerja cabut lari, tak payah ajar kaum pribumi.
Tapi takpe lah, nafsu masing-masing.

Hutang pun berganda. Dan tak boleh bayar. Sebanyak US$59 bilion (RM200 bilion).
Kini pasaran kewangan satu dunia ketakutan kerana pemerintah Dubai (kerajaan Dubai?

Amerika, indeks Dow Jones jatuh 1.5 peratus.
Jepun, indeks Nikkei runtuh 3.2 peratus.
Hong Kong, indeks Hang Seng ranap 4.8 peratus.

A Retrofabulous Christmas Crafabration with Madge!

Holiday Fun with the Potters 2008!

(Congrats to Pippirose for winning the prize package!)

I am not afraid to admit that I love Christmas....so there! Take that, holly haters! I love it because it is for those of us who miss the light this time of year, a way to bring the light inside of our homes, deck our halls, celebrate the joy of giving, sharing, laughing and loving. It's a magical time, if we allow it to be. It is like all things in life all about perspective. It isn't about the race for the cheapest DVD Player or the newest gadgets or games, it's about family and friends. Honestly I've been chomping at the bit here this year. I'm so excited and I just can't hide it! Bring on the glitter, break out the glue guns, tinsel me up, baby!

I had a few not so fabulous Christmas experiences way back when and for many years it tainted things for me. I felt the holidays approaching and immediately started feeling stressed out and sad and disappointed in advance. We put a lot of pressure on these few days to make us happy. It's rather silly really. Happiness isn't an involuntary response to external stimuli, happiness is a conscious choice.

I dreaded Christmas for years and then I had a kid and she reminded me that it was about being in the moment so fully and completely that we couldn't help but choose joy...and that we could be sad too, but we didn't have to get stuck there. She helped me rediscover the wonder of the season. She helped me rediscover the magic of believing. She showed me the Zen of Christmas.

I choose not to get caught up in the buying of crap that people don't need. I choose not to feel pressured. I choose not to be sad about the disappointments of Christmas past. I choose to focus on the joy. The best gifts don't come in packages, they come from the heart.

I have recently acquired 16 sensational 1960s craft magazines. I am going to share with you over the next few weeks my version of some of the projects and remind you that a handmade gift can be ten times cooler than some random obligatory thing picked up on sale at the mall. It's a Retrofabulous Christmas Craftabration with Madge! Game on!

xoxo

Is It Snowing Yet?

Frosty the Snowman...Do you think there really was some magic in that old silk hat he wore?

I can remember as a child, trying so many hats on the Snowmen I built. I danced around and twirled in the snow, I can remember even trying my black fluffy ear muffs to bring my snowman to life. I told him that I dreamt of being a Snow Queen. I would have all the snow cones I wanted to eat. We would make ice cream from the snow every day. The Snowmen would never melt there, they would live forever. Yes, those were the days.

How ironic, I ended up settling in the Land of the Sun, in the desert of all places. Phoenix, Arizona, the place I so love to call home. As always, thank you for stopping by. Country hugs and love,

I switched off Blackberry & life is fun again

Saya solat di masjid gede (bahasa Jawa untuk 'besar') Wangsa Maju, Masjid Usamah bin Zaid. Besaunya.
Biasanya saya ke Masjid Muaz bin Jabal di Setiawangsa, tapi depa slow nak start tadi. Dah 0745 masih belum berkumandang takbir raya.
Dan sebab hari ni Jum'-at banyak masjid hanya membuat ibadah korban esok (Sabtu). Takut syiok lapah lembu tak sempat nak bersihkan diri dan tempat sebelum solat Jum'-at.
Mari kejap jenguk hidup saya tanpa mesin hitam bernama Blackberry.

--------------------------------------------------------

In the past two years, I was frightened at being left out of the latest news, the hottest development in the office and happenings around the world.
And then something called push email came into my life.
I bought a Blackberry machine and became an addict, a news junkie. Some people call it Crackberry.
While others chatted, listened to music, talked to family members or just dozed off, you would find me latched onto my black machine, scrolling through the latest email every few minutes.
This happened even while I am at my desk with both my Lotus office email and my Gmail signed on.
You see, Blackberry email works faster, so I could get messages sent by others a few seconds to a few minutes earlier before they get into my Inbox in the office PC.
The Blackberry was the first thing I look for when I opened my eyes in the mornings, and the last thing I stared at before sleeping. Even on weekends.
People have received emails from me - sometimes on, ahem, important news developments, but most times on nonsensical musings - as late as 2am. OK, I lied, make that 3am.
I thought I would be happy indeed if I knew what was the latest news, gossip, and whether some top brass in the office has some important announcement or just scolded somebody for making mistakes.
And I thought colleagues and friends would appreciate the instant replies (and crass jokes).

Then two weeks ago, someone told me he was fed up with his life being 'tied to Blackberry' and has removed it from his life.
I gasped!
That is like saying I have accepted God into my life and has now blasphemed by saying there is no God! Well, almost, I guess.

And then there was the Terminator movies showing Rise of The Machines - how first we controlled them; then we lose control over tem; and then the became self-aware; and then they wanted to kill us.
Oops. We are at the second stage I guess.

So, I have my own doubts about the machine too, actually. After all, with my salary being cut, I now wonder whether it is still worthwhile to pay, from my own pocket, the $150 to $250 a month just to get to know the latest news and gossip and whether some top brass has made key announcements.
The bill used to be around $80 to $150 when I started out but ballooned because of heavier usage.
They didn't call it Crackberry for nothing. You get addicted and must read everything and respond to everything.

Late last week, I have had enough. I turned off my Blackberry as short vacation time started, and flew to my home in Kuala Lumpur.
Well, here I am a few days without turning my machine even once.
And heck, are those real birds chirping outside my window, or the sound of an email coming in?
Those are real birds indeed! (it helps that my KL neighbourhood has a lot of big old trees).
I actually finished reading pages and pages of my favourite magazine, National Geographic, without switching to reading emails in between.
Ah freedom at last.
OK, so now I have decided to return my Blackberry contract, never mind if I will have to pay a quite few hundred dollars to cancel the contract.
What's next?
My next machine should be a Nokia E72 or a Samsung Jet.
I heard they have some nifty email functions.
Well, you know, just in case I get cravings in the middle of the night, and it is too dark to read National Geographic....

Friends,
Eid Mubarak!Salam Alaikum!

The festival Bakrid is celebrated all over Gulf countries n in Kerala tomorrow on 27th November ,Friday.

the festival of sacrifice is celebrated on the tenth day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijja.Id-ul-Zuha also called Id-ul-Adha in Arabic and Bak-Id in the Indian subcontinent because of the tradition of sacrificing a goat or 'bakr'in Urdu.the word 'Id' derived from the Arabic'iwd'means festival and zuha comes from 'uzhaiyya' which translates to sacrifice.
On this day Muslims sacrifice a goat or bakr[Urdu]to commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, who willingly agreed to kill his son at the behest of God.it is a reminder of Prophet Ibrahim's readiness to sacrifice his son for God's sake.it also marks the completion of Haj[pilgrimage to Mecca].Ibrahim decided to sacrifice his son Ismail,at Mina, near Mecca.as the great religious leader was on the point of applying the sword to the throat of his dear son,it was revealed to him that the exercise was merely a test of his faith in Allah and that he could sacrifice a ram instead.
Eid-AL-Adha occurs the day after the pilgrims conducting Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide, descend from Mount Arafat.it happens to be approximately seventy days after the end of the month of Ramdan.
On this day, special 'Dua'is recited by thousands of Muslims for peace and prosperity.the day also coincides with the day the holy Quran was declared complete.
prayers are offered in the mosques and the sacrificial meat is then distributed after the Id prayers.special delicacies are prepared and served among family and friends on this happy occasion.
it is atime of family get togethers.
Allahu Akbar which means God is Great will eb echoed in all
Musilm houses.early morning they rise up and after having bath, all of them will gather in mosques where the Imam recites prayers and gives taks on how to go on with the commandments of God and lead a holy life like Ibrahim.Muslims prepare mouth watering meals, visit the dear and near ones, cracking jokes, laughing wholeheartedly, enjoy dancing and singing.
here, we celebrate the festival on 28th,November-Saturday.
Bakrid is a festival of great rejoice.exchange of greetings and gifts make people excited.the festival of sacrifice is celebrated
with traditional fervour and gaiety in India.giving n receiving gifts make us so excited!
promoting brotherhood and affection to the fellow people and showing the gratitude towards God that is what all Muslim celebrations bring about.
on this occasion of celebrations,I remember,my colleague, Rashee
da, her enthusiasm, her lively spirits, the energy filled dances n her creativity, her long silky hair, the pink rose on her hair, the sweet smile n I do think about her often who is no more with us today.she had left us on one 27th,November years before.it was an untimely departure of a wonderful person from her family n friends.
