New Free Jewelry Making Project for Jewel School!

Here is this week's project for Jewel School, which I created many months ago on air. I like this one, it's simple but pretty and it's delightful on. You can get the instructions for this at the JTV blog. This is a great way to learn how to use the three channel bead board. It's one of those oft overlooked tools. You just build all three strands on both sides up to the same number and they will nestle into one another perfectly. No math required! It's terrific for Mad Men inspired triple strand graduated necklaces.

I'm off to the bead mines...tune in tomorrow when I reveal my project for the Bead Soup Blog Party!

Cheers,
Madge

Video on Demand for Jewel School: Beading Basics!

It's teeny tiny Madge! Hee.

Every Thursday after the Jewel School show, the awesome production team at JTV and I work on a 'video on demand' to post on the JTV website. The videos post the following Thursday. It's a mix of techniques and projects and we've already got a library of 15 videos created by the Jewel School hosts that are all really informative and fun. This week I share the four basic techniques you need to master to get started making jewelry. I'm a stickler for good foundations and even if you already make jewelry, you may find something here you didn't know before!

Here's the link to this week's tutorial!

We're about to get pummeled with snow here...again. Did I even move South?!

Cheers,
Madge

Smoky Mountain Christmas and TastyLinks!

Some of my vintage Shiny Brite and Polish ornaments in oversize beverage glasses from Michaels. I almost fell over when I found them. I made the bow...yeah...I'm crafty like that.

Fresh greens in a vintage Colonial era Indian Chicken feeder, faux pointsettia in another Colonial era Indian piece, mini flocked trees, a handcrafted dove candle holder from Mexico and a Madge original collage canvas.

Vintage plastic Santa candy holders with vintage Christmas light bulbs, flickering candles and flocked miniature trees.

Just in case you didn't get the memo...I've been appearing live on Thursdays and Saturdays on Jewelry Television's Jewel School from 9am to Noon EST on TV and on the JTV.com website. I'll be back on tomorrow...saying a little prayer the snow doesn't make it misery getting to Knoxville...and sharing two new projects with my lovely hosts Sheree Henry and Katie Rooke.

We have bedecked our halls with boughs, bows and balls this season. I'm feeling the Smoky Mountain Christmas.

THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Okay...sit down...grab a cuppa and get ready. I'm finally going to share the BIG NEWS!

I have taken a full time position with JTV (Jewelry Television) assisting them with their Jewel School Program. My official title is Jewel School Education and Creative Coordinator. My job is going to evolve as the program expands. To start I'll be creating projects for and hosting DVDs, appearing in educational segments on-air, helping develop video and other content for their new website, writing articles and how to projects for their e-letter, social networking and being an all around jewelry making guru for their customers, which hopefully will include all of you!

We are moving to the Knoxville area and that means we've got to get this house in shape to sell and get everything packed up and ready to move. Just packing the studio is freaking me out! My husband is working full time on the renovation front and I'm knee deep in projects and planning for JTV. It's a big leap of faith for me to go from being my own boss to working for someone else, but this is the culmination of 6 years of hard work and visualizing. I'm ready for a new direction professionally and a new location personally. We're going to be living in the Smoky Mountains and the views there would blow your mind.

I'll still be here sharing and blogging with you. I may not be as prolific as before, but stay tuned because this is going to be a really fun journey for all of us. Scout's honor! My straw pile is currently taking up two large rooms so I must away, but tune in tomorrow for this week's Freaky Friday!

xoxo
