Model Ekonomi Baru - Mengukur kedudukan ekonomi

Baik menurut data IMF, World Bank atau CIA Factbook.
Kata World Bank, Malaysia di nombor 48, US$14,215.
Kata CIA, kedudukan 59, US$14,700.

Sebab tu jangan nak hentam kerajaan saja).

3) Dalam tahun 1986, majalah terkemuka The Economist mula menyiarkan apa yang dipanggilnya The Big Mac Index.

1 Sing dollar = RM2.30 to 2.40.

ILoveToCreate: A Little Birdy Mother's Day Card

A Little Birdy Mother’s Day Card

“Mom crafted, kid approved.”

Mother's Day is coming soon and here's a great way to give Mom something handcrafted and from the heart.  This card is a work of art she can frame and enjoy for many years to come. You can use any layered dies and coordinated papers you prefer so your card is custom made for your Mom!

My daughter Avalon and I love all things Hello Kitty. I mean we LOVE all things Hello Kitty and particularly the array of characters in her pantheon. So when she picked out this adorable bird die and wanted to do a project with it, it was kismet. I'm really happy with how this all came together.  This card has everything I love on it and is from the person I love the most in the world. It really doesn’t get better than that, does it? You can use any layered dies you like, just gather up a variety of coordinating papers and cut the layers so they are multi-patterned. It is so easy to stick it all together with Aleene’s glue stick and Liquid Fusion glue. You can take a trip to pick up the materials and stop by your local thrift shop or Antique mall to score the buttons and have some good quality mother/daughter time. Let’s face it-every gal likes an excuse for a shopping trip!

Materials
Sizzix Hello Kitty Big Shot Die “Birdie”
Sizzix Large Folder Flowers, Spring and Paisley Embossing Set
Martha Stewart Lace Edge Punch
Coordinated Patterned Scrapbook Papers (you’ll need 5 different sheets)
Coordinated Heavy Cardstock in a solid color to match patterned papers
Various coordinating vintage or new buttons and buckles to stack in layers
Printed out text in Mia’s Scribblings 24 pt. from daFont.com “A Little Birdy Told Me It Was Your Special Day” and  “Happy Mother’s Day From Your Little Birdy”
Aleene’s Liquid Fusion Glue
Aleene’s Acid Free Tacky Glue Stick

Tools
Sizzix Big Shot Machine with accessories/platform
Scissors
Wire Cutters
Bone Folder
Precision Paper Cutter (I have a big office sized one here, but you can use a smaller one. )

1. Create your card background by cutting a large piece of cardstock to 11.5” tall and 7” wide on a paper cutter.

2. Fold paper along center, lining up edges and use bone folder to make a sharp crease.

3. Cut the Birdie die three times, using three different coordinating papers.

4. Use scissors to cut out elements in various colors for layering, following the marks left by the die cutter. I did the wings in one color, the flower and beak in another and the background in a third.

5. Use glue stick to adhere layers together.

6. Emboss a fourth coordinating patterned paper with the flowers folder.

7. Cut this on a paper cutter to 3.5” tall by 5.5” wide.

8. Cut a final coordinating paper to 4” tall by 5.5” wide.

9. Use the fancy edge punch to make a decorative edge along the top and bottom of the embossed sheet. Line the holes up with the image on the punch to make sure you get an unbroken line.

10. Print your text. Cut around text leaving a thin border.

11. Place inside text segment on a final coordinating piece of patterned paper and mark so you can cut it to frame your text.

12. Use a glue stick to layer the various elements. The front of the card starts with the centered 3.5x5.5 rectangle, followed by the centered embossed rectangle on an angle and the bird which is on an opposite angle. See photo for details.

13. Adhere text to the bottom left corner of the card with a glue stick.

14. Select buttons for top left and bottom right edges of your design, the flower and the eye on the bird. I took an old plastic buckle and cut out the center rung for the bottom left accent. I also placed the buttons so the inner buttons were flush to the edge of the central image. See photo for details.

15. Adhere the inside text to the border using a glue stick. Adhere that to the center of the inside of the card on an angle.

Dear Friends,

Good Evening!

Every Day is a new beginning;but tomorrow is special for me and for those who love me.:)My star is 'chothi' and right from childhood my birthday was celebrated on this star of Meenam month of Malayalam. So,my birthday always consisted of taking an early bath, lighting the lamp and chanting prayers. After having breakfast, I used to go to temple [in Kerala, to Guruvayoor Temple] and seek the blessings of God Almighty.A traditional feast will be preapared and we have a sadya on banana leaf.I pray wholeheartedly to Lord Krishna to forgive me for my mistakes,to lessen my sorrows,to make me free from my worries and let the days be filled with His Choicest Blessings!

As tomorrow, I am working and I have to leave home early,I thought of writing this post now.The midnight calls, the morning mails and the greetings will make my day very special and cheerful.:)Away from home, busy with the workload, there is no celebration.Generally I don't like to celebrate my birthday.I could always keep it in my heart and never expose that important day of my life!

A birthday happens once a year,

A time of get together, with near and dear ones.

The phone will ring many times from midnight,

With my people and friends wishing me,
A Very Happy Birthday!

And Many Many Happy Returns Of The Day!

I am so thankful to all of you,

And know that i'm incredibly blessed

To have them all in my life!

Growing one year older,

Growing one year younger,

I am traveling through the woods,

Enjoying the beautiful nature,

The streams, the sparrows and the butterflies!

I can feel the fresh and refreshing breeze,

As and when I walk along!

I can feel your love,my dearies,

Your words of care and cheer

Echo in my ears as I move forward!

I know this is the right time of the year,

For introspection and changes!

What have I done so far,

What should I do within the remaining time!

How to accept what is disagreeable.

To enjoy greater freedom of thought and expression!

Love and patience work wonders.

Birthdays are never complete,

Without wishes from dear and near ones!

A birthday is so special,

That unfolds many joys and happy moments,

For us to cherish forever!

Seeking your prayers and goodwill,

Let the day be simple but bright!

With your love and smiles!

I want to close my eyes now,

And to feel the images flash across my eyes!

''There are many things in life that will catch your eyes,

But only a few will catch your heart.............pursue those''.

Friends,

I am so happy that you are my true friends and you encourage me a lot by your inspiring words.Life calls us to new adventures, new challenges and new paths to tread up on.As childish as it may sound, but the birthday presents I would like to have are,

A bright and glowing smile from the depth of your heart,

A sincere and honest prayer,

A bunch of fresh and fragrant enchanting jasmine flowers,

Roses of various sizes and colours,

A loving mail of words of cheer,

A phone call that is from your heart!

Hey,now the choice is yours!:)

''I love thee,I love but thee

With a love that shall not die,

Till the Sun grows cold,

And the stars grow old''.

''To the world you may be one person,

But to me you may be the world!''

I believe,''what is uttered from the heart alone,

Will win the hearts of others to your own''.

It's Anu signing off...........

I trust you,in your friendship and love.

You are the reason for my smiles!

Trusting in the happenings of life,

Without questioning The Super Power,
Anu reminds you, she loves you more and more,

Without you there is no meaning to her life!

Wishing you a beautiful and lovely night,

And dreaming for a happy and prosperous future,

Sasneham,

Anu

He Loves Me..He Loves Me Not...

See the cool Spring breeze. Can you smell the scent of Spring? Can you feel the warmth on your face from the long vacationed sun?

Each precious strand of her hair was blowing in the wind. She concentrated so hard to pick each perfect daisy. Mommy said to pick only a few, I need bunches.

Daddy will be home soon, and I am going to surprise him with these beautiful flowers. He will pick me up, throw me high into the air, and call me his little "sweetie pie" as I giggle with delight at the game we so love to play each day he comes home.  Daddy will be so happy he will throw his head back and ask, "Are these for me?"

He will set me down on his lap, as we pluck the petals one at a time, He loves me, He loves me not. He loves me, he loves me not. We always come out to "He loves me". (I think sometimes Daddy cheats by pulling out two petals so he always comes out to He Loves Me.)

Daddy will then pick me up and put me on his shoulders as I get a ride inside the house. HE LOVES ME!!! I love you too Daddy. I love you too.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert that I so love to call home. Country hugs and love...

Katanya.

Sama seperti apa yang dikatakan PM Najib - no more rent-seeking and patronage = iaitu kontrak cepat kaya akan ditiadakan.

TAMBAHAN PENTING, PAGI 0830. TAMBAHAN, TAMBAHAN

Apabila bangun saya teringat, terlupa aku nak lihat per capita annual income Singapore ni berapa.

Kami janjikan kamu "Swiss lifestyle", "Swiss standard of living" kalau terus sokong PAP.
Singapore di tangga 23 (IMF), 20 (World Bank), 27 (CIA).
Malaysia di tangga 64, 57, 61.

Baik kita guna IMF saja biar tak pening. Kalau ikut list ini antara negara Asean,

Brunei 20.
Singapore 23.
Malaysia 64.
Thailand 91.
(China 99).
Indonesia 116.
Filipina 121.
(India 139).
Vietnam 137.
Laos 144.
Cambodia 148.
Burma 166.

OKlah dulu, nanti saya cerita. Lapar pula dah tulis tentang makanan ni.

ILoveToCreate Teen Crafts: Pretty in Peeps Pendant

I loves me some Marshmallow Peeps candies! How about you? Last year I bought a huge pile of them just to stack them up and stare at the fabulous colors. They’re so happy and fun filled. My daughter Avalon loves Peeps too. She loves them so much I can’t buy too many or she’ll turn into a Peep.

No, seriously.

I spent the better part of Easter season last year contemplating how to turn a Peeps candy into a bead. I thought about leaving one to sit for a few months and get nice and hard and then spraying it with a sealant...and heck that might work if you didn’t live in a 130 year old school house with a small mold problem. Methinks a moldy Peep bead would lack some appeal.

I finally settled on Sculpey Ultra Light polymer clay embellished with Crafty Chica paints and glitter and Tulip Glam It Up Studs. This could become a pin or a pendant or you could make a whole bunch of these on dowels and do a fun Peeps flower pot centerpiece like my edible bouquet from last year. I decided to make mine into a necklace and just added a bunch of springy Vintage and new Lucite and wood beads for a super cute necklace. If you really want to go to town, try making some Sculpey egg beads to coordinate...or add some polka dots and squiggles to large wooden beads...or do a collar of several Peeps that circle the neckline. I am not exaggerating in the least when I tell you that making these is so much fun, you’re going to look for reasons to make more!

Materials
Sculpey Ultra Light
Crafty Chica Little Chica Paints Red and White
3 Tulip Glam-It-Up Iron-On Studs Black
Crafty Chica Glitter Sunset Pink
Aleene’s Jewel-It Glue
Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Spray
Aleene’s Matte Finish Spray Sealant

Tools
Paint Brush
Polymer Clay Dedicated Toaster Oven
Sheet of Brown Kraft Paper

(To Make the Necklace:
Various Coordinated Beads in a Pattern That Makes a 16” or Longer Finished Length (I got the clear Lucite with green filament beads in NYC but here’s a source online and Beadin’ Path has a plethora of great vintage and new Lucite beads), 49 Strand .018 (or thicker) Beadalon Wire (always fill the holes of your beads with the wire), Beadalon EZ-Crimp Fancy Sterling Toggle Clasp, Mighty Crimp Tool and Wire Cutters)

1. Soften clay in your hands or by running it through a clay dedicated pasta machine until it is malleable. Use a real Peep as your guide to create a clay version. I bought some for research so I could get the size right...that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

2. Use a sharp pointed object to create a hole in the middle of your rabbit’s head. This hole is threaded side to side so you can string the pendant on a necklace. Skip this step if you’re not making a bead.

3. Place rabbit on a sheet of Kraft paper on the baking tray and into a pre-heated 275 degree Toaster Oven. Watch the clay to be sure it doesn’t burn...it shouldn’t take very long to set. Mine took about 7 minutes...after I burned the first one. Oops.

4. Allow rabbit to cool. Mix red and white Crafty Chica paints to get a nice shade of pink. Paint rabbit. Allow to dry.

5. Place rabbit on a sheet of kraft or scrap paper. Spray with Aleene’s Tacky Spray. Pour a generous helping of pink glitter all over rabbit front and sides. Tap off excess and pour back into jar. Allow to dry.

6. Spray rabbit with Aleene’s Matte Finish Spray Sealant. Allow to dry.

7. Adhere the three Glam It Up studs to the face of your rabbit with the Jewel-It Glue. You’ll need to have a good dollop of glue so it fits into the recess on the stud. Use the handle of your paintbrush or a toothpick to remove any excess glue. Allow to dry.

Design Note: Do not eat this Peep.  It won't taste very good.  Trust me.

Rest In Peace "Angel Girl"

Tonight we had to say good-bye to our loyal friend, "Angel". She passed away after giving birth to 8 puppies. Sadly all were stillborn, so we lost every piece of her today, but death did not rob us of our memories. She belonged to my youngest son, Phillip who has had her since she was 6 weeks old, but for at least 4 years of her life, she lived with us. She was our grand dog. Phillip got a home not quite a year ago, and was able to give her a beautiful yard to play in, but today he brought Angel home. She will reside with our other loyal friend, Bischie.

Angel was a pit bull, and I was very apprehensive about her at first, but came to love her with all my heart. She loved to swim in our pool, even in the winter when it was 40 degrees outside and cooler in the pool. She didn't care, she loved to swim. She would purposely throw her ball into the pool, so she could go in and get it. It was a game for her. (We believe she was a bird dog reincarniated.)

She let you know when company was here, whether invited or not, nobody came without being announced. She was such a loyal friend to my son. Phillip loved her, and had taught her so many tricks. She would sit, lay, roll over, and loved to pull on the chew toys with him. Hard as he tried he was never able to out run her. It was a game with the two of them. Just a boy and his dog.

Today that boy became a man, as he dug the grave for his loyal friend. Tears fell as he remembered the good times with his companion. I stood and felt the tears fall as well, watching the pain come from my sons heart as he carefully laid her to rest. Please keep Phillip and our family in your prayers as we mourn the loss of a beautiful girl who touched our lives for almost 6 years. We love you Angel Girl. Today you received the wings that complete the name that Phillip gave to you. Wings for you "Angel".

We put the two solar butterflies on either side of her grave, so she would have light all the time. Her stepping stone relays a message to everyone who walks by, "Our Beloved Dog". I have decided to turn the garden by her grave into an angel garden just for "Angel". She loved that corner of the yard so it shall be hers forever.  We lit candles for her tonight, said prayers for her and shared stories that we each remembered.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert that I so love to call home. Country hugs and love...

Jadi kalau isinya 'lembek', payah lah brader.

Nak cakap banyak pun susah, nanti orang kata saya sokong sangat Pak Najib.

The Bubble Girl

This morning I woke up and read a disturbing article.  The FDA has issued a warning about four major medicines for asthma (Advair, Symbicort, Serevent and Foradil.).  I take one of them currently and I have at one time or another been on all of them.

I have chronic serious unresponsive asthma.  I do not respond to the normal asthma protocol, so I have, for the past 12 years, been living on half of the oxygen normal people do.  I have a chronic cough and I am often exhausted.  The medicines I've been diligently taking do nothing but make me fat.  I have gained twenty pounds since I started taking these medications and as I continue taking them it becomes more difficult to keep the weight under control. The FDA has just issued a serious warning on the medicine I  take because it's dangerous and people are dying from taking it.  Not only does it make me fat, it just might kill me.  Fabulous.

My asthma doctor threw his hands up in the air recently.  We've tested for everything he can imagine and we've tried all of the available medicines for asthmatics.  I have seen lung doctors and specialists and had endless tests.  No one has answers.  Nothing is working.  So now, finally, we are trying to get me to the top asthma and lung center in the country.  If we can work it out, I may discover what is really going on with me and although that may not mean concrete solutions, it will feel good to finally be able to point to something and say, "That's it." and then to be able to visualize 'it' disappearing.  If we can't work it out, I'm simply not sure what comes next, but I'll be damned if I'm going to give up seeking answers.

I have learned a lot on this journey and most of what I have learned is that if you want to get better, you simply can't rely on your doctors.  You have to do research, you have to be engaged, you have to show up with questions, you have to fight every day for better answers.  Having a chronic illness is like going into combat, if you're not willing to fight for your life, you're probably not going to survive.  Though none of us is getting out of here alive, I've got far too much to do for an early check out.

Having this condition presents challenges to me on a daily basis.  It's harder for me to do most of the things that other people take for granted. I can't run anymore, ride bikes anymore...just a regular hike or a climb up a staircase leaves me winded.  I cough often, which makes other people incredibly uncomfortable and nervous. In fact, this chronic cough is the worst part of my illness. It creates a barrier between me and the people I love and with people in general.  It makes it tough to chat on the phone, because I'm often having to rush to hang up so I don't start coughing in someone's ear.  It means that I sometimes feel incredibly depressed and alone and I have to grab my pom poms and cheer myself back up. It means that a whiff of perfume or a scented candle or a walk past the detergent aisle at the grocery store sends me into an instant asthma attack.  It means that my favorite season of spring attacks me with the ferocity of a sex starved tiger because I've got a host of allergies too.  It's like having an invisible handicap, because I look fine and people are baffled when I suddenly and inexplicably go into full blown asthma mode.  Just call me Camille.

I joke with my husband that I need a plastic bubble.  We play the REM song The Wrong Child about the bubble boy a lot around here.  "I'm not supposed to be like this...but it's okayyyy."

Hell if you can't laugh, what have you got?

It means that as a professional craft industry designer, I can't work with many mediums because they can not be in my home.  It's frustrating because I'd love to work with resins and spray paints and smelly adhesives, but I can not.  It means that going to the big trade shows becomes a stealth mission.  I have to avoid any booths with odiferous or airborne products or I'm scouting out the restroom and hoping no one recognizes me as I beeline for a stall so I can hack up a lung.

I don't talk about this much.  I don't whine about this much.  I don't want to give it that much power.  I don't want people to think I can't perform or produce, because I can and I do as anyone who knows me can attest.  I have an iron will.  I refuse to give in to this.  There are far worse things in the world.  It's just an incredibly frustrating situation and it's scary when the drugs you're taking are so dangerous the FDA is nervous about them.  I've tried alternate medicines too, so please don't start listing them.  I have tried them all.  I have meditated, medicated, breathed deeply, removed heavy metals, taken endless supplements and potions and oils and drops...bent, bowed, prayed and hoped.

So now, maybe, if all goes well, I'll finally get some answers. I want my life back.

Yes, it's perhaps risky for me to share this here.  Perhaps this is too much transparency, but perhaps it will help someone else who also struggles on a daily basis with a chronic condition to know that they do not have to give into it and that even though it may feel like it, they are not alone.  That if you keep making noise, eventually someone will hear you.  We can create joy and abundance and success and we can survive anything.  Everyone of of us is stronger than we know.

Madge

Sedih.

PAINKUNI UTHRAM AND HANUMAN JAYANTHI!

CELEBRATING THE BIRTHDAY OF LORD AYYAPPA AND HANUMAN
28th,Sunday,2010

7p.m

Dear Friends,

Good Evening!

Today was a real holiday.I could realx and enjoy lazing round and reading a lot.Tomorrow is Painkuni Uthram or Panguni Uthiram which falls on Pournami day of Meena Masam of Malayali Calendar.Lord Ayyappa is born to the union of Mohini-the avatar of Lord Vishnu -and Lord Shiva.Hence he is called as Hariharasuthan or Harihariputhran.Ayyappan is also called as Manikandan or Manikanta.

Bhoothanatha sadananda,
Sarvabhoota dayapara,

Raksha raksha mahabaho,

Shastrethubhyam namo namaha!

Devotees believe that Ayyappan is born to demolish the demoness Mahishi. After destroying her,Lord has given her a boon that she will be worshipped as Malikappurathamma.

In Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Temple,Ayyappa Jayanthi is celebrated with utmost fervour and attracts ten thousands of devotees to Sabarimala.

Sabarimala is situated in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. Many holy shrines of Hindus are lcated close to nature on mountain tops, river banks or sea shores where teh enviornment is conducive for reflection and meditation.Of these holy destinations, hilltop shrines have been difficult to access as often the climb is long and arduous.Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Temple is situated on such ahilltop. It is widely believed that the difficulties encountered on a journey increase the benefits one would derive from the pigrimage and in turn enhance the sanctity of the pilgrim centre.Such pilgrimages present a challenge to pilgrims not only because of the terrain they have to negotiate but also on account of the presence of wild animals on the way, which adds an element of risk and uncertainty to the journey.

Tomorrow is the last day of the annual festival of Sree Sabarimala Temple-Aarattu,the tenth day of the annual festival.Swami Ayyappan's star is Uthram in Meena Masam.[My Amma's star is also Uthram].

Panguni Uthiram is a big festival in Tamil Nadu.Several temple festivals like divine marriages, brahmotsavams, aradhanotsavams and other festivites are celebrated on Painguni Uthiram.Madurai Meenakshi Sundrareshwar temple,Sreerangam Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple,Palani Murugan Temple and some other temples dedicate dto Lord Shiva attract thousands of devotees on this special day of Painguni Uthiram.
Yatra yatra raghunatha keertanam

Tatra Tatra kritha mastakanjalim

Bhaaspavaari paripurna lochanam

Maarutim namata raakshsanthakam.

Means,we bow to Maruti,Sri Hanuman, who stands with his palm folded above his forehead with a torrent of tears flowing down his eyes wherever the names of Lord Rama are sung.

Shri Hanuman is worshipped all over India either alone or together with Sree Rama.Every temple of Sree Rama has the murti or idol of Sree Hanuman. He was born to Wind God and Anjani Devi. His other names are Pavanasuta,Marutsuta,PavanKumar,Bhajrangabali and Mahavira.Hanuman's birthday falls on Chaitra Shukla Purnima[the March-April full moon day]. Devotees fast on this day and read Hanuman Chalisa. They spend the whole day in the name of Rama -Nam.

Hanuman Jayanthi is celebrated to commorate the birth anniversary of Sree Hanuman, the strong devotee of Sri Rama. From early mornings devotees visit Hanuman Temples and seek blessings.Hanuman is the symbol of strength and energy.Hanuman is said to be able to assume any form at will, wield rocks, move mountains, dart through the air, seize the clouds and rival Garuda in swiftness of flight.Hanuman is worshipped in folk tradition as a deity with magical powers and the ability to conquer the evil spirits.Hanuman or Anjaneya is the strong devotee of Lord Rama and he is a brahmachari and humility is his hallmark.

He is the loving embodiment of Rama-Nama.He was an ideal selfless worker a true Karma Yogi who worked desirelessly and dynamically. He served Sri Rama with pure love and devotion without expecting any fruit in return. He lived to serve Sree Rama.He was humble, brave and wise.He possessed all kinds of virtues. He did what others could not do-crossing the ocean by just chanting Sree Rama Nam,burning the city of Lanka and bringing the sanjeevani herb and restoring Lakshmana to life again.

The devotees will visit temples and apply kumkum[sindoor] n their foreheads as thilakam as this is considered to bring good luck.According to the legend,Sita was applying kumkum on her forehead,Hanumanji wanted to know the reason for which Sita Devi replied that this would ensure a long life for her husband,Sree Rama.Hanuman then smeared his entire body with Sindoor,in an effort to ensure Sree Rama's immortality.

May Lord Ayyappa and Sree Anjaneya shower their choicest blessings on one and all.

It's Anu signing off..............

We are always taught to chant the mantra for Lord Hanuman to prevent us from seeing the nightmares[the terrific dreams!]

Together, let us seek the holy blessings,

Anu loves you dil se,

Wishing you a bright and beautiful week ahead,

Sasneham,

Anu

Tracey looking through the basket of hang tags brought by Meri for each one of us to choose one from. They were all so pretty it was hard to decide on one. But I found mine. Lookie - lookie.

Isn't this the most beautiful hang tag ever? Meri even made the rose. I love the word Rosy and the colors and the photo are just picture perfect. Thank you Meri, Sweetie. I will cherish it always.
