AN EVENING BY THE SEA SHORE

It was party time,folks!

25th October,2009,
Sunday,
10 p.m
Dear Friends,
Good
Evening!yesterday evening there was a wedding reception!after a long gap,i was attending a public function.:)it was the wedding reception of Ajish n Pinkey held at Kenilworth Beach Resort n&Spa,Utorda Beach.The long deserted road lined with coconut trees, reminded me of our village roads in Kerala. the car ride listening to the soft music,was very soothing to mind.nestled in the white sands of Utorda beach,The Kenilworth Beach Resort sprawls in across fourteen acres.the beautful location,the illuminations,the newly wedded couples,the glamorous crowd n the fireworks .............gradually one gets into the romantic mood.:)

It's the lush green scenery,
The cool n refreshing air,
beckons one n all,
To journey through the land of music.
Amidst the sea breeze,

The decorated tables with candles,
Red carnicia n white flowers,

The sea facing lawns n the grand reception,
The soft n hot drinks n the snacks,
the greenery all around makes

Us think of love ,the most soft feeling.
Of the all the guys she has met,
He is the one she can't forget,
It really amazes her these days,
How someone can make her,

Feel so special n being loved;
With each passing day,
He brightens her days.
She loves him in silence so deeply,

Noone hears as she is so mysterious;
But she hears him daily,
Whispering the three magic words to her.

They walked by the sea shore once a while,
He holds for hands and hugs her,
When her silken hair flows in the wind,
Touching his face with a fragrance,
And a gentle brush of her fingers,
Sending shivers down his spine,
They were engrossed in deep love,
Forgetting the world watching them.
Their eyes reflected pure love,

Longing for one word,one look n one smile,
And her heartbeats go faster.
Hey,they are simply amazing.
Under the clear sky,on a moonlit night,
He hugged her softly n kissed her,

And whispered the magic words of love.
That was the most memorable gift she had received.

It was like the raindrops in summer,
Moonlight for the ocean,
Nectar for the bees.
The fireflies floated in the air,
And that was an unforgettable night,

To cherish forever!
she has music in her heart,
She feels everything right,
When she listens to his voice.
She feels good always,with a bright smile,

She has become kind to all,
Loving the small n big creations of GOD,
He has brought colours to her life,

Giving her hopes for a better future.
Her search for someone special ended with him;
And he strongly feels,
She is the only light in his life of darkness.
Tell me friends,is this love?
Everyone experiences at some time of life?

Friends,
attending a party and losing oneself in the thoughts of romance n writing a post afterwards,sharing the feelings with you, i feel great.:)
this week is going to be very hectic with submissions n evaluations.i have to cut short my time on posts n visiting your posts.but trust me,my mind is always with you.wishing one n all a romantic night,recollecting your love story,reminding you anu loves all of you,
it's anu signing off.........
do you want to share your love story?:)
today's dedication is to the prince charming n to all those have love in your hearts..........KAHO NA PYAR HAI..........:)SAY IT ONCE n enjoy the video.

THE ONE AND ONLY MAHATMA!

REMEMBERING THE GREAT SOUL ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY........................
2nd october,2009

Friday
10 a.m
Dear Friends,

Good morning!since two days it's pouring!no sign of sun!even in monsoon we haven't received this heavy rain!through the glass door i can see raindrops falling in the sea.it's a real feast for eyes,to enjoy the pitter patter raindrops!but so sad,the heavy showers have damaged the ready-to -harvest paddy fields in the state.
We are remembering the great soul,Bapuji,today on his birth anniversary with respect n love.Today is the birth anniversary of our Ex-Prime Minister,Shri.Lal Bahadur Shastriji too.i really wish,2nd October should not be just another holiday for us.i was influenced by the great personality right from the childhood.that is because of the good upbringing,the right awareness n the vast reading.here is a simple attempt to remember the Father Of Our Nation.
Today-October 2nd,The International Day Of Non -Violence.
''We must be the change we wish to see'',one of the most popular quotes of Mahatma!
Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi,
Bapuji as he is affectionately called,

Born to Karamcahand Gandhi n Putalibai,
In Porbander,in Gujarat,on 2nd October,1869,
Very shy and was scared by nature;
The values of truthfulness,honesty n integrity,

Were instilled in him, right from his childhood;
Mohandas got married at the age of 13-14;
His wife was Kasturba of the same age;
As like many of us Mohandas too,
Fell into the bad company in young age,
And did the sinful deeds;
But he realised the mistakes n wrote them down;
And handing over the letter to his father,
He sat by the bed side as his father was ill;
Tears rolled down from father's cheeks;
But he did not utter a single word,
The pain was written on his face;
And the silence was the best punishment he received;

It was then that Mohandas resolved;
He would always resolve a truthful life.

And throughout his life,
He stuck to his resolution.

This simple great man leaves me spellbound;
H e was a Barrister by profession,
And spent twenty long years of discomfort n insults in South Africa.
Truth n nonviolence is what he taught us,
The principles for which he fought,
Preaching n practices were the same for him,
This simple great men changed the lives of millions,
Through love,kindhearetd nature,
He looks so simple at the spinning wheel,
An everlasting smile adorned his face,

Non violence is the solution to the strife,
the valuable lessons of cleanliness n patience,

Listen not see not speak not evil,
leads a life of simplicity n high thinking,
Mahatma took the long journey of tough n rough path,
To lift the life of millions n get the free INDIA,

Gandhiji is the source of inspiration n emulation;
For great leaders like Martin Luther King Jr n Nelson Mandela,
He is regarded as the symbol of independent India,
We salute you,Mahatma,for your greatness,
Your very name is synonymous with peace n non violence,

You struggled to bring Indians together;
The unparalleled struggle with wisdom n foresight;
Gandhiji fought against injustice,
And brought unity among people,
He did not miss a single opportunity in serving his country;
And we owe you,Bapuji for your struggle to free India
Here is a rare birth of a real Mahatma,
who dedicated his life to the service of humanity;
Who taught us the important values of,
Brotherhood,peace non-violence,equality n simplicity,
Friends,let us follow the path he has shown us,
This will be the most befitting tribute to him!

''Nobody can hurt me without my permission''.
There is more to life than simply increasing its speed''.

''The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others''.
Let us pledge to serve the society,our state n nation n we can bring out better changes.why dow e succumb to anger and aggressions?

the dedication is -''Raghupathi raghava rajaram......Pateetha pavana seetharam.............''it is dedicated to the hero,teh ever green role model of my life-BAPUJI! I love this song and today many times i will sing the lines..........
it's anu signing off.........the weekend is going to be wet.
today is the grand concluding ceremony of 2009 ONAM functions!pookalam competitions will be begun from 2.30 p.m.The Chief Minster is the chief guest.the celebartion is in sate level of eleven associations.the beautiful trophies have reached from Kochi.Rs.7000worth trophy for the first prize,Rs.5000 worth trophy for second prize.the cultural programme is late in the evening.
it's anu signing off.............
each and every moment all of you are in my thoughts.anu loves you.

SWINGING IN THE MEMORIES OF ONAM

BUT I MISS MY DECORATED SWING..............

01.09.09

TUESDAY

Dear Friends,

good evening.from Atham onwards,it is raining.so,this onam will be drenched n the pookalam may be spoiled.but,rain is considered to be an auspicious sign and it's a gift of nature.

here i present my 100th post before you,on this Uthradam evening.:)

HAPPY UTHHRADAM TO ALL OF YOU!keralites will be busy purchasing the provisions,vegetables,fruits n new clothes.but here there is no uthrada pachil.everything has come in packets,the banana chips,sharkara upperi varattiyathu,palada packets[ready to make],vegetables,banana leaves everything is available in the market.

''Maveli nadu vaneedun kalam..........,

Manushyarellarumonna pole''.

When King Mahabali ruled Kerala,there was equality,peace,honesty n prosperity made the state the paradise on the earth.once again keralites across the world eagerly wait to welcome the legendary King Mahabali on Thiruvonam Day,2nd sept,2009.

I always cherish my childhood memories specially of festival days which add colour to my life,spring to my feet and light to my mind n a smile to my lips.and these memories make me miss my village in Kerala.

i was born n brought up in a joint family of twenty to thirty members n i was having my siblings n cousins to play with.we always had fun.we lived in the ancestoral tharavadu n in pathayapura uncle n fly stayed.it was another double storeyed house in the courtyard.

onam days begin with the wandering on the hill tops,the valleys near the fences for collecting flowers.onam takes us back to nature.i love the small cute white colured Thumba[a must],yellow coloured mukutti,red coloured shoe flowres[in many other shades too],violet coloured vadamalli,the bright coloured marigold,the red colured thechipoov n so many unknown flowers.the floral carpet on the cowdung smeared courtyard welcomed the guests from Atham onwards.the size of the pookalam will be increased by adding more flowers to it on every passing day.Thumba poov is given more importance as it is the favourite flower of Lord Shiva and King M ahabali was a worshipper of Lord Shiva.

After having an early bath,we wore the Onam Kodi[new dress]that were gifted by the eldest member of the family and put the beautiful pookalam.we used to wait for the Onam Kodi anxiously.the breakfast consists of steamed banana pieces[hot],fried papads n banana chips.wow!what mouthwatering wholesome breakfast.then we used to go to Guruvayoor Temple to have the punya darshan of Ambadi Kannan.on Uthradam devotees offer the bananas to Kannan.this is a famous offering.at both the nadas huge colourful pookalam will be put for ten days by the shopkeepers n different organisations.

in our tharavadu,the tenants used to bring bananas,vegetables n other crops cultivated in the fields and they were given Onam gifts.they used to address us as thampuran n thampuratti.kuttipennu still adress amma,''thampuratti''with respect.

once we reach home,a sumptuous onam sadya awaits us with eleven to thirteen dishes.we sit on the mat laid on the floor.the sadya is served on tender banana leaves.a strict order of serving dishes one after another is obeyed.first the sadya is served for Lord Ganapathi infront of a lighted lamp as we start everything in the name of God.boiled bananas,fried chips,sweet banana chips,papad,parippu kari, puliyinchi,lime pickel,kalan,oalan,aviyal,sambar,pachadi,kootu kari,cabbage thoran,payasam n prathaman are the the items commonly prepared.whole family members start the preparations on teh previous night.the onam sadya is a joint effort.i love having hot boiled rice,ghee and parippukari.the colourful arrangement on the lush green banana leaves look even more tempting and irresistable.:)

After the grand meal,its time for people to indulge in recreational activities and enjoy the festival.men will be busy in rigorous sports like tug of war while ladies perform Kaikottikali n Thumbi Thullal.ladies wear the most beautiful traditional gold bordered mundu and neriyathu.gents wear gold bordered mundu and veshti.girls look beautiful in pattu pavada n blouse.besides,there is also a tradition of playing on a decorated swing hung from a high branch of a tree.onam songs are sung on the occasion.i miss the swing and the hands that used to swing me too.:) nanda n friends perform kaikottikali for the colony functions n i was so happy they could perform the same before Lord Guruvayoorappan.

doing poojas to thrikkakarappan and having the neivedyam,ada after the pooja bring out the rituals behind the festival.

Onam is the only festival in Kerala that lasts for ten days.this is the festival that all keralites celebrate in high spirits.the proverb ,''Kaanam vittum onam unnanam''is really true.Onam reflects the faith of the people,a belief in the legendary past,religion n power of worship. from Chingam first onwards the preparation begins in the houses.

Friends,for the next onam,try to be in God's Own Country,the land of coconut trees,back water,house boats,ayurvedic get aways,thundering beats of drum,delightful festivals,enchanting nature,historical temples,snake boat races,traditional mohiniyattam,kaikottikali and finally the lip smacking home made food!

ENTE KERALAM ETHRA SUNDARAM![HOW BEAUTIFUL IS MY KERALA!]

If completing a century is a milestone in a blogger's life i'm happy n thrilled to announce that i've reached here successfully.i bow at the lotus feet of GOD ALMIGHTY with sincere prayers that i get peace of mind n self satisfaction through my simple writings.

thanking my family,my dear n near ones,my friends,my readers,my followers,my wellwishers,my sparrows,crows,pigeons,cat n kittens,flowers butterflies,the sea,the illuminated ships for inspiring n encouraging me to write the posts regularly to improve upon the quality n for giving the spark to write the posts..................... :)
without you,anu can't celebrate the happy moments.

it's anu signing off............................
i love the bushes of shoe plants,the red,pink n yellow shoe flowers,the mylanchi plants,the pure white thumba poov,the golden coloured champak flowers,the taste of Ada prathaman,the off white traditional kasavu mundu n veshti,the white n pink pavizhamalli pookal,the pambin kavu,the wells n tank in my house in the village.

I miss onam in my house in Kerala with Amma n my family members.tomorrow i've invited my north indian friend n fly for Onam sadya as they really enjoy our feast. the spirit was always high and the hopes were bright n colourful.

it's raining.........anu loves you all.wishing one n all A VERY HAPPY ONAM,let's wake up to a beautiful thiruvonapulari...............................i'm grateful to all of you,for your best wishes n good words...... and words fail to express my overflowing feelings for the wonderful onam gift from the best friend ever i had!:)i'm honoured,dear.thisOnam will be always unforgettable.
the dedication song is ''Thumbi vaa thunchakudathil...........''n the dedication is to my dearies.........

it's a surprise,that Jains also celebrate their main festival of PARYUSHAN[DASLAKCHAN] for ten days,starting from 23rd August,2009.their main celebration is on 3rd september.i wish mohit and all other jains a wonderful day n grand celebration!

A WONDERFUL ONAM AWAITS ALL OF US! LET US SPREAD JOY N PEACE!

MUMTAZ AND I

FOES OR FRIENDS?
25th,august,2009
10 a.m

Dear Friends,

Yesterday it was raining the whole day.at many places,the idols of Lord Ganesha was immersed yesterday night after pooja and aarti.as our flat overlooks into the sea till late night we could watch the procession of devotees singing bhajans and heading towards the sea for immersion of the idols. i felt nice.
as you all know i was on medical leave as i decided to feel the monsoon magic,relaxing at home forgetting the stressful days at office.away from work n colleagues back into my own dreamworld!that was really a nice break from the hectic schedule.
i was under special diet with no to oily stuff,rice and fried items.complete rest was instructed.
my maid Mumtaz comes in the evenings as she works in five houses.she is a beautiful n slim lady who is very religious.one can't believe she is the mother of six children.she belongs to karnataka.she was married at the age of eleven.she looks young. mumtaz comes to my house with folded hands and a cheerful namaste. then she prays to our God.she has always a sweet smile on her face.the first day i was surprised to see a helper greeting me with a namaste.Mumtaz is so kind enough sending me away from kitchen to take rest.she tells,
''Didi,aap aaram keejiye.sab kuch mein karoongi''.
i give her the usual instructions,not to use oil in chappati n to cook the vegetables without water only in the steam.[the normal healthy ways of cooking].
she listens and starts her work.''Didi,mujhe sab pata hei.aap jayeeye.''our mein chali andhar.
i used to feel happy;here is someone who doesn't expect any help from me.fine.
after finsihing all the work within two hours,having her tea,mumtaz comes again with folded hands to say 'namaste'.she bows to God and she leaves.so religious she is and iam happy with her ways.we should not undrestimate anyone.
at night i go to kitchen to warm up the food.i am shocked to find out that the chappatis are full of oil and the sabji is cooked only in oil.my mumtaz,so, obedient you are,not a drop of water is used:)and the real tears start flowing from my eyes at dinner time as the the subji is so pungent.shall i starve?noway!just take two three small plaintains and gulp it fast!
those who have read my earlier post,Getting into shape will be aware of my plight in reducing atleast one kilo per month.:)Sree Vidya n Usha Uthupu are my role models.i just love their personality!the beauty,the grace,the cheer,the enthusiasm everything inspire me!
now i just don't know whether Mumtaz is my foe or friend.:)whatever weight iam struggling to shed off,so kindly she will help me to gain within a day!soon after the monsoon magic the most frightening question i was asked,''anu how much have you reduced now?''i wonder!i struggle to convince no magic can be done within one month!it will take time n along with special diet,i have to do my workouts too!
''anu,hope you can resist the sweets and specailly the temple payasam.''[i can't resist temple payasam,dearies.:)
''anu,don't over eat''.[no,that i was particular.but once i started working all the taste buds tempt me a lot].
''anu,you should not suffer i future.so,please take care''.[yeah,i will].
''anu,read this sunday suppelment of manorama news paper.see,if there is a will,there is a way.these people have reduced their weight from 140 kg to 70kg.[i must agree,really inspiring stories.''but i never landed up the danger zone,na.] ''anu did you check your weight''.''not yet,i will do it''.[but i must feel that i have reduced atleast three kilos,na?:)]

nanda has bought fat free tablets for me and to be true i haven't opened it till now.it promises the reduction of excess fat but right now i will wait with special diet that includes sukha chappati and boiled vegetables and salads.
but hello,someone out there,tell mumtaz not to close the ways to a slim figure as now i have a will![who knows how long will i have this strong wish to gain an attractive figure]:)
i will be really angry waiting for Mumtaz to come the next day and pour out my anger on her.but the moment i see her with folded hands and a magicNamaste,i swallow the words and don't like to create tension. she is my helper and right now i need someone very badly.:)
so,keeping my cool,i tell her what i am not supposed to have and please be careful.this time i don't take a chance.i hide the oil bottle and chilli powder.i tell her to use green chillies.i can't scold her,that is my problem.:) so,hide n seek i sgoing on as she still loves to cook vegetables in oil.
in the end two things can happen.either she will leave me and go after taking the salary[as she can't cook the food according to her wish now] or my weight will be reduced. [as i have to start cooking now].
she drives me mad often.when i need her the most,the same day she will be absent to meet her urgent needs.the very day kishen reached for a short break,mumtaz was on leave.:)who is she?my friend or foe?
but mumtaz,you know i like you and i look forward to the evenings.you give me company and these days i've staretd supervising her,without her knowledge.hey,folks,but i must appreciate,she is very honest and honesty is the best policy.she teaches me by keeping silence,giving a sweet smile n magic namaste, we can win anyone's heart!:)
and i showed this post to Mumtaz and she was so excited to know i have written about her.

it's anu signing off............

it staretd raining.wow!i am enjoying the rain.this is my first post that is written from my office.i am alone right now and before my friends come to have the tiffin with me,i want to publish it.

tomorrow is my Kunjettan's birthday[vishakaham star].kunjettan's and madhav's birthdays fall during onam season.Happy Birthday,Kunjettan.May God Bless You To Have Many More.
nanda is busy making all the favourite dishes of maza now and we are in touch by chats.amma is fine.
friends,in my earlier post,Getting Into Shape,Deliberately Thoughtless had recommended Lavana Thailam.after that many queries had come to both of us asking for the effects.For God's sake,let us make clear that we are not the agents for it and not yet used it..the ads come in the magazines and try it out at your own risk!i was shocked to know that when you type Lavana Thailam in google search you can land up in anupama's blog too!:) My God!

today sreejith came to meet me in office;a young smart handsome guy.only after his self introduction i realised that he is shailesh's elder brother who has come back here on transfer. shailesh was my client years before and he is in calicut now.when sreejit got transfer back to this state,his only request was that he must meet me.:)shailesh,i didn't know i had left an imprint in your mind which is so deep and i'm sure i will get a call from you.you could make my day!hey,so i live in someone's good memories!:)

have a wonderful day ahead!anu loves you all. HAPPY ONAM TO ALL OF YOU!missing the wonderful pookalams that decorate the courtyards of the houses of kerala.
today's dedication is a beautiful song from Puthiya Mukham.it is dedicated to my best friend who reminds me patience pays and love is soft and steady n it exists for ever.:)
let a pookalam be spread in your mind while enjoying the video......................... celebrate each moment of onam days.
sasneham,

GANPATI BAPPA MORIYA!

WORSHIP OF NATURE

23RD,august,2009

8a.m

Dear Friends,

Vakratunda Mahakaya,

Suryakoti-sama-prabha.

Nirvighnam kuru me deva,

Sarva-karyeshu sarvada.

HAPPY GANESH CHATURTHI!

Seeking blessings of Lord Ganesha to remove all the obstacles of life,i'm so happy to write this new post. Ganesh or Gajanan the elephant God of wisdom and wealth is the second son of Shiva and Parvathi.HE is worshipped at the beginning of every ritual or ceremony,offered to any Hindu God,as they belive HE is the fulfiller of all desires,the bestower of wealth n wisdom,the remover of obstacles and the grantor of success.Ganesh is the most popular and most loved household deity in India who is prayed to for everything.

Ganesh Chaturthi is considered the most enchanting of all festivals celebrated by the
hindus,here.it is like our ONAM festival.all the relatives across the globe have a get together for the celebrations.students are getting ten days' holidays.apart from meeting family members who otherwise live in different parts of the world,the youngsters famililiarize themselves with the familytree.the unique family traditions and and customs are passed on to the new
generations.everyone lives in harmony and everyone participates in the festivities right from teh installation to the immersion ceremony.i simply love any occasion when when family reunites.it's tome to learn or traditions n culture.it's awesome to go back to our roots through festivals.

there is a frenzy of activity going on among the youngsters in the villages;they forage for wild fruits,vegetables and flowers taht will adorn the matoli[pandal where Lord Ganesh will be installed].the director of arts and culture has staretd a competition for the most traditional matoli.this reminds me of our VISHU.the way we decorate our KANNAN,for Ganesh Chaturthi,devotees decorate Lord Ganesh with all kinds of fruits,vegetables flowers!

the farming communities worship Lord Ganesha as asymbol of gratitude to the earth.this is because of his parents,Parvathi symbolises the hills.during the monsoon,silt from the hills settles to make the soil fertile.

similarly farmers tie the ears of paddy to their homes' entrance or to the matoli .this is like the niraputhari.it's a custom that's come down from the time when paddy fields were destroyed by wild elephants n rats.the worship of Lord Ganesha n his mount,the rat,is believed to garner
protection.

the matoli celebrates nature.thepandal is made of rare wild flowers ,fruits,roots,shoots and leaves found mostly in forested areas.

devotees will install Lord Ganesha at Ayyappa Temple today evening.all over the state one can see various matolis beautifully decorated.

thanks to amritha channel for showing us Malliyoor Ganesh Temple,today.it's nice to see n know about the different temples in our country.surya also has aprogramme called Keshtrayanam.what a blessing to have darshan of Malliyoor Bhagavata Hamsam thirumeni!how dinive he looks in this old age!

today is ATHAM. we start decoarting our courtyards with beautiful pookalams.it's the time of celebratons!children are fully enthusiastic collecting the various flowers and making beautiful
pookalams.competitions are held and all are in high spirits.we go back to nature n start searching the leaves n flowers.my little star n her friends put the huge pookalam at Kala Accademy for the function held for Keralotsav in the yesteryears.she is an expert with designs and enjoys doing even the bit of work she does.this is giving the whole self and enjoy each moment of life!

it's anu signing off..................

being sunday we can enjoy the live atham chamayam at tripunithara on tv.enjoy n relax!we had boiled banana,chips n papad for breakfast with pittu!this is the way we can feel the onam season!:)

o,yeah,i must tell you!i was always eager to get awards for my blogs n venky my blogger friend has given me three awards at a go!wow!he strongly believes i deserve them.thanks,dear,thanks a lot.the pleasant surprises that bring a smile in our lives which are very rare.
and today is kishen's dance performance at night.dearest,we are proud of you!:)'The Special Look';it's jazz,folks!when my little star n maza enjoy classical dance,kishen loves western!:)
and you know,sunday evenings,the much awaited call from maza comes and now nanda is with her.i was given a hearty welcome in the office after the long break of one month.my friends made me feel happy n comfortable.i really enjoyed n relaxed in their company.
enjoy n celebrate!it's festival time.anu loves you all..........thanks a lot for the special care n love to see that anu won't talk about tears!:)
the song dedication is for all Ganesh devotees...........
