iLoveToCreate Lulu's Folly Mixed Media Purse

“A well dressed woman, even though her purse is painfully empty, can conquer the world.” Louise Brooks

“Mom crafted, kid approved.”

I scored a few paper purses at Old Navy on clearance last Christmas. I’ve slowly been making mixed media designs with them. This can be done on any paper or wood purse blank, they have tons of choices at your local big box craft chains. These kinds of designs for me have two purposes. Firstly they tell a story about a ‘woman of substance’ from history about whom I think it’s important young women know. These women paved the way for us and they’re fascinating creatures. This purse features silent film actress Louise Brooks. I have always adored her. She is credited with being the woman who made the bob haircut popular, which back in the 1920s was a huge thing. Bobbing your hair, rolling down your stockings and rouging your knees, applying bee stung lips...these were the rebellious acts of daring young women back in their day. These were women who dared to be different and who planted the seeds of independence we are reaping today. The second purpose of these designs is exploring the fun of playing with layers of colors, inks, images and dimensional elements to make wearable art. Purses are one of my guilty pleasures as a designer because they're the sort of fashion item that can be a bit more whimsical and fun.

Teens can choose any images they like and layer colors and elements to suit their individual style. Dab, layer, drizzle, splatter, stamp and have fun with this! I love inspiring people to make things their own and explore their unique creative eye. Don’t worry about coloring in the lines and following design rules, sometimes chaos can yield surprisingly pleasing results.

LAGI TAMBAH

Eh! Politikus Zulkifli Noordin pun bawa lagi satu cerita.

TAMBAHAN PAGI

What a great story brought by Lawyer Kampung!
In the US, the Americanos took OUT the word Allah from a programme because errrr.... the CHRISTIANS didn't like it.
But Allah is God, no? Hahaha.
See here.

Tak 'yah tulis banyak, nanti kesian Abang Polis penat kena padamkan api kemarahan.
Group Facebook 'Menentang....' ni nampak dah meletup-letup. Dari 35,000 hanya tiga hari lalu, kini dah 74,000 members (11.40mlm Selasa).
Ramai yang marah, beb.

Tapi Alhamdulillah.

Seperti kata saya, mereka ni dah jadi pihak pembangkang - nak menang saja.

Dulu don't know
Now dah jelas.
Dulu 'No'
Now dah lepas!*

Piss on earth, y'all.

*Ish ish ish.

Dulu don't know
Now dah jelas
Dulu Umno
Sekarang PAS!

Si otak lemah Umno pun keluarkan gurindam nak lawan (weak lah!):
Umno
Dulu
Kini
Dan selamanya.

Dear Friends,

Good Evening!

It's very cold.the cool breeze is blowing from the sea.I can't even open the glass door and spend some time in the balcony.through the glass,I admire and appreciate the illuminated ships and boats,the coloured water and the solitude!my mind is filled with peace and happiness.right from the day I joined work,it's work and more work.late hours,meetings and round the clock,you think and plan.it's appraisal week and the most important day is thursday,7th,January.I have to finish a lot of wriiten work tonight,but right now nothing stops me from writing this post.the urge is strong and I have a feeling,someone somewhere would be anxiously waiting to read my post. :)it's my belief.

I am a workaholic.I need to excel and be the best.I crave for perfection.so,my work never ends.I hardly enjoy life,the important events and happenings.but I am satisfied only if I overdo things.on many occasions I did not get the right kind of appreciation I deserved for a good job done and have therefore felt neglected or ignored.but that is momentary.I get out of that phase soon.
On many times we feel thrown out as the need is over.we hardly hear,'Thank you','Sorry'' or 'Please'.I don't like to be frustrated or unhappy.I want to set a good example of a cheerful and an inspiring friend.to boost my feelings I have decided not to depend on others.you may not have time for me.so,whenever I feel I need an appreciation,recognition or a good word,I will pat myself and be happy and in high spirits.so,I am creating opportunities to pat myself at the end of the day by improving my self esteem,charity works and reaching out to the needy.

A walk enjoying the cool breeze is too good for mind and body;but I have to leave home early in the morning.respect and recognition can be achieved by smiling and sharing what we can,helping in some way and by counselling.we are responsible for our happiness.

just now I received a forward from my friend and it goes with this post very well.please have a look.

Does Management know their Staff?
On walking into the factory, the MD noticed a young guy leaning against the wall, doing nothing.
He approached the young man and calmly said to him, "How much do you earn?"
The young man was quite amazed that he was asked such a personal question, he replied, none the less, "I earn $2000.00 a month, Sir. Why?"
Without answering, the MD took out his wallet and removed $6000.00 cash and gave it to the young man and said, "Around here I pay people for working, not for standing around looking pretty! Here is your 3 months salary, now GET OUT and don't come back".
The young man turned around and was quickly out of sight.

Noticing a few onlookers, the MD said in a very upset manner, "And that applies for everybody in this company".
He approached one of the onlookers and asked him, "Who's the young man that I just fired?"
To which an amazing reply came of, "He was the pizza delivery man, Sir...!"

Friends,

How'z that?It really happens when the management doesn't know the staff.our appraisal team has reached from the headquarters.They don't know me.my actions[reports/files]have to speak louder.confidence and presence of mind I do have.Still,I have to preapre a lot!

It's Anu signing off.After writing this post I am relieved and I can work harder till midnight.[what a way of getting inspired?]:)

You know what,in the wee hours of the first day of January,I felt like singing,

''Thattam pidichu valikkalle....................mylanchadi chediye...................''imagine I was lying down in the berth of Rajdhani E xpress.When my heart fills with the soft feelings,I love to sing this number.today let me dedicate the same .my throat is choked till I sing it again and again...................:)the very song lifts my spirits.Lakshmi Gopalaswami makes us feel the romantic mood so well..............

Kehte hai dil ki baat,har kissi ko kahi nahi jati;

Apno kobhi batayi nahi jati;

Par dost to ayinehote hai;

Aur ayine sekoi bat chupaai nahi jati! :)[aap to mere aayina hei nah?]

Wishing you a cool,lovely romantic night,

Anu loves all of you!

Sasneham,

Anu

Happy 29th Birthday Phillip - My Baby is 29, Is That Possible???

Oh My Precious Son,

Where Has the Time Gone?

January 5, 1981,

29 years ago you and I had our first date.

I knew when I looked into your big

brown eyes that you
were special,

and were going to do BIG things.

It seems like this was you only yesterday.....

If you could have , you would've slept with those darn boots on. You loved your cowboy hat, and your gun and holster were your sidekicks. You never went anywhere without them. You wanted a big black horse when you grew up. (No, it didn't happen, but it was so fun watching you dream.)

Here you are my son, with your precious son, Kain Boy. I so love the beautiful man, Husband and Dad that you have become. You are so beautiful to me. I love you Phillip.

(And for those of you wondering, no Phillip didn't grow up and get a horse, he grew up and bought himself a big Dodge Truck.) Who would've thought?

Happy Birthday My Precious Phillip, I will always love you. Thank you for the 29years of joy, tears, smiles, laughter, and so many years of happiness that you have given me.

Here's your chocolate cake. Sorry about the missing piece. You know your Dad, if there is a chocolate cake around, he's getting into it. He said you wouldn't miss it tho, he only taste tested it for you.

Happy Birthday my Precious Son. I love you with all my Heart. I hope you will all join in with me in wishing Phillip, my baby, a Happy 29th Birthday.

As always thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert, that I so love call home. Country hugs...

Monday TastyLinks for the New Year!

I've been MIA here since New Year's, do forgive. I've got a nasty case of bronchitis and I have asthma so I have been forcing myself to rest. Unfortunately I don't have any assistants to spin the straw for me when I'm unable to do it myself. Ah, what would I give for some evil minions and magical helpers?! Here are your Saturday TastyLinks a few days late...I'm hoping to be back tomorrow with a new post for iLoveToCreate. Until then...craft on with your bad selves.

All Good Things Must Come To An End...

Well, we knew eventually the clock would strike midnight;

The ball gown would be gone;

The coach would turn back to a pumpkin;

The footmen would become mice once again;

And we my friends,
Would be back to work on Monday;

Working 9 to 5, what a way to make a living.

Have a beautiful Monday my friends, I will be thinking about each of you. As always, thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert, that I so love to call home. Country hugs and so much love,
