Getting Back The Sunshine With Auspicious Days......

21.11.2010
Sunday
Dear Friends,
A beautiful and pelasant morning to all of you!I was appreciating and admiring the lovely sea.Sea is calm like my mind. There are many ships and boats.Whenever I feel low,I spend timein my balcony looking at the sea and the mountain on the right side.God has gifted me these natural wonders.
Vrischikam Month[Malayalam] has begun. This is the season of the year when devotees go to Sabarimala, theabode of Lord Ayyappa after observing a pious and pure lifestyle.
Bhoothanatha Sadananda,
Sarva Bootha Dayapara,
Raksha Raksha Maha Bhaho,
Sasthre Thubhyam Namo Namaha!
Yesterday was Muppettu Saurday,a very auspicious for Lord Ayyappa. Many devotees have worn the sacred Mudramaala. This is the season of devotion and sacrifices. We can see devotees wearing the black dhoti and mudramaala. The temple looks beautiful with the facelift and decorated with the garlands of marigold..Stage looks wonderful.Nadappura is offered to Lord Ayyappa. There was a bhajan by a troupe from Kochi on the very first day of Mandalam.
Early morning I went to temple to have darshan of Lord Ayyappa having abhishekam.Ghee abhishekam is very important. The first day there was abhishekam with twenty one dravyas.
People have given up non-veg food, smoking and drinks. It is a real change.Cooks have come from Kerala and now food is prepared in the temple. Most of the days there is grand annadaanam.
This is the only time of the year one can have parippuvada from the canteen. When I left Kerala,I used to miss parippuvada a lot.
Guruvayoor Ekadashi was on the same day.And Bakrid too.Tulsi vivah is also over.As I have written posts on all these important events and celebrations last year,I didn't write again. After Diwali, and Tulsi Lagna, the season of weddings begins in the state.
Tripurari Pournima is celebrated on the 15th day of the first fortnight of the Hindu Month of Karthika. The festival that symbolises the victory of good over evil is also called the Karthik Pournima.Legend says that the demon king Trpurasur had been harassing the Gods, and afierce battle ensued in which the asura was killed. The day was Karthik Pournima.Since then people have been celebrating the day by lighting lamps in temples dedicated to Lord Shiva.Tradition also says that Lord Shiva's son the God Karthikeyan should also be venerated on this day.As part of the celebrations people set afloat lit lamps in the river.
The temple premises will be illuminated with lamps and the Palkhi of Lord Vithala is taken out in procession to the river Valavanti where after carryingout the pooja, lamps are offered to the God and set afloat on the river.
Earlier, earthen lamps placed within small bowls made of leaves were floated.Later the shape of the leaf bowl or drona changed to take shape of a boat.
Today, very decorative and artistic models of boats are crafted out of cardboard and thermocol.A boat cotest is organised.
An effigy of Tripurasura will be burnt on the island in the river Valvanti and Sarang[balloon lamps] are released on the occasion.
The core  of the festival, worship of lamps[deeparadhana] and offering of lamps to God remain unchanged.
ek sawal aapse.........................
Na jaane,kyom,
ehsaas hua jaise kisine yaad kiya;kahi oh aap to nahi?:)

Friends,
''Let love fill your heart removing hatred.
When hate is in your heart,
There is room for nothing else
And when happiness fills your heart,
There is room for endless happiness''.
We all  need the love and soothing touch
To save us from the worries of life;
Let the fingers of your beloved,
run through your hair, when you cry!
Let the sun shine again in your life.........
It's Anu signing off..........................
 If there's nothing to say,
Then it's the end of a relationship.
Long silence will not help
Nurturing a relationship.
When the space is too wide,
It's difficult to build the bridge.
There should be something to look forward.:)
Today,on this auspicios day,
Look at the full moon .........
Let your heart fill with love and compassion.
Make a positive wish for the smile of others.
Please light a lamp and remove the darkness
You will be the light in someone's life..............:)
Reminding you Anu loves you dil se,
Wishing you a beautiful day ahead,
                         Sasneham,
                               Anu
