Dear Friends,
Good Evening!
Tomorrow is my Amma's star birthday-Uthram star of Thulam month.Uthram is the star of Lord Ayyappa.all of us,the five children are away,but Madhav,my younger brother n chettan will be with Amma on the auspicious day.today's post is my Birthday Gift to My Amma,the most wonderful,loving and influential person in my life!Amma is my source of inspiration!As the name Chandrika means,Amma spreads the moonlight of love,peace and happiness.:)you can view the photo of my Amma and Achan!:)The statue of Krishna is Nanda's selection from Guruvayoor for Maza,who lives across the seas,in the city by Hudson river.

Every day is a new beginning,
But tomorrow is very special for us,
Amma it is your birthday,
Of the most wonderful person of our lives.
You are so simple n don't believe in celebrations,
But we want the day to be memorable,
So I decided to write down my feelings,
For which many posts i will need.:)
Born in an aristocratic family,
To the wonderful parents,
In a village near Guruvayoor,
Who has studied in schools n colleges,
In kottapadi,chavakkad,calicut and kochi,
Who opted for music as the special subject,
For the professional course in Trichur,
Who sings so melodiously,
Who has a wonderful style of writing,
And an excellent command in English n Malayalam,
Under the guidance of the scholars n poets
Being so lucky to have strong foundation,
Who won the hearts of the faculty n friends,
Just being the simple n humble person,
Who worked as the high school teacher,
Teaching English n Social Studies,
Winning the hearts of hundreds,
And the most lovable human being,
Married to a perfect gentleman,
Belonging to an aristocratic family,
And thus my Amma became Ms. Chandrika Balachandra Menon.
Together my parents developed,
The love for letters and reading,
The introduction to the amazing world of English,
The love for the language n grammar,
The moral support n inspiration,
To participate in curricular n non curricular activities,
The dance classes,classical n folk arts,
Reading newspaper should be a routine,
Checking dictionary must be a practice,
The words are more powerful than swords,
The culture,the traditions,the devotion passed on,
The best of education n the best of life given,
The exposure n the religious trips,
The strength of relations,value of sacrifice,
The bonds to be built among friends,
To stretch a helping hand to the needy,
The importance of education should be stressed,
The utilisation of opportunities is a must,
The love for music n cultural arts,
The age should not be a barrier to learn,
Life still can offer a lot,
Teaching to get up after a fall,
Love the birds,animals and plants,
To be strong to face the storms of lives,
A good deed deserves another,
A smile n good word always are rewarding,
An early bird catches the prey,
Slow and steady wins the race,
United we stand n divided we fall.
The hardships you have taken ,
Not only in bringing up your children,
But also in the growth of grandchildren,
How can we forget Amma, till the end of our lives?
Unexpectedly n untimely when Achan left us,
All we, five childrn were away,
Amma was stronger to face the life,
And the loneliness made her write,
Five books on spiritual n philosophical thoughts,
Amma, we are really proud of you,
On whose lap we search the solace,
Whose love is always overflowing,
Like the water of the ocean,
Only you can understand,Amma,
When my voice breaks down on phone,
Only you can soothe the disappointments,
And calm all the fears of life,
Looking forward for X'mas holidays,
To be with you and to be soaked in your love,
Amma,dearest,we are thankful,
To the OMNIPOTENT for gifting us,
The wonderful parents on earth!
For all these priceless lessons taught to us,
We,the five children fail to express,
Our love,regards n gratitude by words,
We are indebted to our parents life long,
For what we are today!
I must mention about Rev.Sr.Modesta,
The most sincere and honest student,
And friend of my dearest Amma,
Who never fails to reach us,
On all special days and celebrations,
Whose prayers are so warm n honest,
Lucky Amma, to have a student and fan like her,
And lucky Rev.Sr,to be taught by a teacher like Amma.:)
On this special day Amma,dearest,
I offer you a bunch of roses n jamanthy,
Your alltime favourite flowers!:)

The dedication is the favourite song of Amma.Ambalapuzha Kannanodu.... My parents are very pious and strong devotees of Lord Krishna.
Before publshing the post,I read out this to Amma on phone and as always,the most humble person of my life feels,the feathers are too heavy for her cap.:)
and I replied,bundles of more feathers Amma deserves!:)very true!
Amma wants to tell you,she is really proud of her children and family.Amma,Achan will be so happy n proud of you for your noble n loving character!:)
As tomorrow is a working day,i will not get time to publish this tomorrow morning.so,the post is published just the previous night.friends,seeking your prayers,assuring Anu's love to all,reminding you my Amma knows most of you,
