Pemimpin PAS ramai sokong Brazil (?)

Dah penat buat cerita 'biasa' tentang politik, Khamis malam saya dan semua media dijemput makan malam dengan pemimpin PAS di Kelantan Trade Centre.
Saya beritahu bos, saya nak buat cerita World Cup, nak tanya pemimpin parti Islam ni.

Terkejut para pemimpin PAS apabila saya kata 'Datuk/YB, saya tak nak tanya isu Umno-PAS malam ni. Saya nak tanya siapa agaknya akan menang World Cup.'

PAS chiefs make their World Cup picks

KOTA BARU, Kelantan: Leaders of Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) are united in wanting to kick the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition out of Putrajaya, but there is little consensus on who should rule the football world.
The Straits Times asked 10 top party leaders - all members of the decision-making PAS central committee, including the deputy president and two of the three vice-presidents - to name their favourite cup team.
Brazil came up tops, winning the backing of five leaders. Even then PAS central committee member Muhammad Sabu, while picking Brazil, said that he likes Argentina too because “they have a mad coach” in Diego Maradona.
MP and PAS Women’s wing leader, Dr Lo' Lo' Ghazali, has the same opinion of the samba kings of Brazil as many fans around the world.
“They are very skillful and they play a beautiful game,” she said.
Two of the party leaders chose England, though.
One each back France and Spain.
Only deputy president Nasharuddin Mat Isa said he does not follow football.
Vice-president Salahuddin Ayub could not help but be political when asked why he supports Brazil. “PAS has to play a beautiful game like Brazil,” he said. “Never mind if you don't win, people will still remember you.”
The three-day PAS annual convention officially opened yesterday (fri), the same day the World Cup starts in South Africa. PAS organisers heaved a sigh of relief that the games start in the evening, well after the annual meeting ends.
To feed World Cup fever, the leaders of the 1-million-strong party approved the setting up a giant screen outside the big hall where the muktamar (convention) is being held.
Dozens of stalls have also been set up in the same area, selling everything from political videos to food to clothes to add buzz to the muktamar.
Deputy secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan, an England fan, said the party is airing World Cup games at the convention because “PAS people also love football”.
In his Kelantan constituency, assemblyman Husam Musa also put up a big screen so young people can gather and watch the games.
But it will come with a message following a controversy over the apparent issuing of a sports betting licence to a local company that was later rescinded by the Malaysian government.
Datuk Husam said those who watch Cup games on the big screen will be told: “Football is okay. Football betting is not okay.”
