Friday - Finding Beauty

Today is "Friday Finding Beauty" a weekly event on Claudia's blog Dipity Road. Participating blogs are asked to post a photo of whatever they like on their blog, that touched them in some way and made them feel, see, or appreciate a moment of beauty in their lives. Please thank the lovely Ms Claudia for being so kind to host this wonderful weekly event.

"Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder."

If you have the time, please go and visit all of the other blogs participating. It will definitely Bless Your Heart.

"Beauty is the Blessing of 3 generations."

I took the book from the shelf and read a memory…

The woman was old and weathered, she had beautiful blue eyes, as did the child, she wore a little zippered house dress and had hair as black as night. She always smiled at the child that called her Grandma, the child remembered that most, and hugged her very tight. She took the child’s hand in hers and looked at it, measuring it to hers, turning it over and looking at the lines and the length of the fingers. Child she said, “I wish your Mother and Daddy would let you play the piano, you have nice long fingers and you would be good. Someday Child, you will have a child of your own, with brown hair and brown eyes, and you will bring the heritage back to our family. You know Child, you have my hands.”

The Child was now a Mother herself. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, the color of the sky. She took her young daughter’s hand in hers, measuring it to hers and looking at the lines and the length of her fingers. She said, “Daughter, you are special and someday you will do very important things for other people. I believe you will be a nurse. Steady hands are very important. Someday you will take care of Dad and me. You know Daughter, you have my hands.”

The Daughter is now a Mother. She has brown hair and beautiful brown eyes, but looks just like her Mother. She has two daughters. They too, have brown hair and brown eyes. She has given the heritage back to the family.

She took both of her daughter’s hands in her own. She measured them to hers and looked at the lines and length of the fingers. She said to her eldest, “Daughter you are special, and someday you will do very important things for other people. You have beautiful long fingers, and I believe you will write and touch many hearts.” She looked at the hand of the younger daughter and said, “Daughter, you too have very long fingers, they are artistic and I believe you will play the violin. You will give people a “happy heart” when they hear you play.”

The Mother said, "I am so very proud of you two girls. You know Daughters, you both have my hands."

As always, thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert, that I so love to call home. Country hugs and love,
