Dear Friends,
Good evening!the day was hectic since two days clearing up the piled up work,preparations,evaluations n being creative!blogging has become my stress buzzer ,so i just can't complain as i spend a lot of time with my blog n the blogs of my friends..the moment i open my mouth about the work load n stress at office,i am sure i will be advised to cut short my time at pc.oh,i can't even think of that;first it was talking ,in non stop style,n i was told only while sleeping i will be able to keep my mouth shut ,but life has its twists n turns,at times taking away the colours,sometimes leaving you alone,but then,''The life you live is the life you choose''.so,guys,cheer up!today is the auspicious day of Dhnateras.Dhanteras is also known as Dhantrayodashi and takes place two days before DIWALI in honour of Dhanwantari,the physician of the Gods and incarnation of VISHNU.
Dhanteras is the first day of,
Five days long DIWALI festival,
It is also known as Dhanwantari Triodasi or Dhantrayodashi;
Dhan stands for wealth and,
Teras is the thirteenth day of the month of Ashwin,
On this day Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped,
seeking blessings for prosperity n well being,
Dhanteras holds a lot more significance
For the business community,
Houses n office premises,
will be renovated n decorated;
Entrances are made colourful with
lovely traditional motifs of rangoli designs,
Welcoming the Goddess of wealth n prosperity;
To indicate her long awaited arrival,
small footprints are drawn with rice flour n vermillion,
Rice flour is to provide food,
For ants and small insects.
Rangolis are symbols of hospitality.
Rangoli designs are drawn without gaps,
As to avoid teh entrance of evil spirits,
The colourful surroundings,
Add vigour to the most vibrant festival.
Lamps are kept burning althrough the nights,
Hindus are eager to purchase,
Some gold,silver,or utensils;
New Dhan is believed to be,
A sign of good luck n auspiciousness.
Pooja is performed in the evenings,
When tiny earthern diyas are lighted,
To drive away the shadows of evil spirits.
Naivedya of traditional sweets will be offered,
Special sweet is prepared in Maharashtra.
Melodious bhajans will be sung,
In praise of Goddess Lakshmi.
In villages,cattle are adorned n worshipped,
They form the main source of their income.
Prayers are also offered to Lord Of Death,Yama.

Friends,Diwali is round the corner n i am sure all of you are busy shopping.Diwali does not mean only buying for one's pleasure ;it also means sharing our joys and gifts with the less privileged lot.when you ,light up a diya,please see that you will light up the lives of others too..........please enjoy the spirit of giving n friends,i must tell you it is hundred times more pleasurable than receiving a gift.
and i am thrilled at the offer of a DIWALI gift but when it is my time to choose, i just can't do as usual as i have no choices.:)i always look up at My Little Star,Maza or Nanda to name the gift for me;but this is personal,so it should be my choice!:)
Kishen has joined us for Diwali n he has gifted me the book-Those small lil things in life and love by Rahul Saini.all the best fictions are presented to me by Kishen.and i am looking forward to read Chetan Bhagat's new book.it has already hit the bookstalls.
wishing you a wonderful Dhanteras n happy DIWALI,
requesting you,to find out various ways to share the festive joy with the less fortunate,
when the see is cool and waves are calm,praying peace n happiness in your life,
it's anu signing off...............and thanks a lot to the wonderful choice of song on DIWALI.........:)
dreaming of a better tomorrow,waiting eagerly for my three days' holidays,and assuring myself you will join me in lighting the diyas,sharing my love with you all,
sasneham,
anu
