KARWA CHAUTH-A FESTIVAL OF LOVE,CARE N COMMITMENT

SHOW THAT YOU LOVE.........................

7th October,2009,
6p.m
Dear Friends,

Good evening!these days,i have lots of things to share with you.keeping away all the work, shall we sit for a chit chat?the rains have stopped except for exceptional mild showers.the weather is pleasant.the atmosphere in the office is nice,i'm receiving roses these days, and the fresh flowers
make the mornings beautiful.the morning mails n the morning calls reach me as usual giving me reasons to smile.the good night sms bring a smile on my face.just now i fed the cat n the kittens, the crows, sparrows n pigeons. my friends n me are equally happy.:)
the petals of the roses started falling n i spread the dark red petals on my bed n keep a few
inside my books.they look so rich in colour.i love the roses n the hands that gift me the roses too.:)they are really strong n caring.
today,a small boy named ankit came to me with a smile and gave me a small black thing.i was surprised what was he giving me.you, know what,it was a small cute bracelet.it was unexpected and i felt so happy nexcited when i came to know

the cost of the bracelet Rs.5/- was spent from his money bank n the reason for the gift;ankit loves me a lot!what more can i ask for?for me it is more worth than a gold bracelet.the whoel day i was wearing it.it is simply beautiful!i will give him chocolates tomorrow.God is kind enough to gift me the unforgettable moments of love!i am really taken care of!

being an employee of a central govt.organisation,i work in the world of a miniature India.i love knowing about the different festivals, the reasons behind the celebartions n the messages they have to impart.observing festivals is an old tradition.we have to observe that on the correct day and follow traditions correctly. Each festival has a specific month, tithi, nakshtra or combination of tithi and nakshatra or sometimes a day.

today my north indian friends are celebrating Karwa Chauth,a ritual of fasting observed by married Hindu women for the well being, prosperity n long life of their husbands!the word karwa means a clay pot and achauth means the fourth,as the festival is commemorated on the fourth day after the full moon in Karthik month of Hindu Calendar.this is afestival celebrated by great enthusiasm and supposed to eb the most propitious day for any married women in India.early morning the women take bath n do pooja.by 4 a.m they have to prepare a heavy emal n eat it.then the fasting for the day ebgins.not even a drop of water will be taken.women put mehandi on both the hands and decked in heavy silk sarees, suits, with jewellery n flowers wearing new glass bangles starve for their husbands.today is the day everyone looks eagerly for the apppearance of moon in the sky.at the sight of the moon ladies look at the moon through a sieve and they look at the face of their husbands.women n theirhusbands do pooja to the moon and aarti will be done for pati devata too.:)next is the beautiful moment of accepting gifts.

This festival is indeed very special in awoman's life as it brings a new reason of care and love in her marital bond.as she fasts for an entire day without water and food her husband really gets to understand about the perserverance of her love.

for a newly married woman, the occasion is of utmost importance as her first fast gives a new definition to her newly formed relationship.it becomes a day of love, care and commitment.

the festival of Karwa Chauth is popular in Haryana,Punjab,Rajasthan,Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.it is symbolic of the unflagging loyalty of awife towards her husband.jewellery, bangles, henna, kumkum and bindi are of high demands.

it is a beautiful festival of pure n love ,sacrificing one's hunger n thirst.in kerala married ladied fast n do observe similar sacrifices on the day of Thiruvathira.girls n unmarried ladies keep rituals on mondays to get good husbands n to lead a happy n long married life!

today my kannadika friends are observing sangharshti.they have food only after moonrise.

but, please someone tell me why all these fastings are observed only by ladies not by gents?:)

exceptions may be there.my colleague sashi's hubby is also fasting today to give her moral support n really that is so nice of him........[hardly we can meet such loyal n loving husbands.]DEERGHA SUMANGALEE BHAVA..............

I love joining my friends in the rituals except fasting.please,i can't think of that.:)the word FASTING makes me eat more.

today couples exchange love notes and messages on this day.

here is a romantic sms which i read...........

''I told my heart not to beat since you were filled in it,it kept my word and stop the beat.since the blood was passing through the heart, the pass of each drop said,ur name,my love.thanks for praying for me!''HAPPY KARWA CHAUTH!

and to all the loving hearts those are separated for reasons known n unknown, please apply this kumkum on the forehead n build the bond once again.shed off the egos n unite.love changes the whole life!a healthy n happy family build a peaceful n cheerful nation!express love by words, calls n gestures.:)you will be blessed.get reconnected, guys.life is short n enjoy!
wishing for an early moonrise,
praying for the long n happy married life to all,
reminding you,anu loves you a lot,
wishing a cool n wonderful romantic night..........................,dedicating a beautiful romantic song from 'YES,BOSS'',Ek din aap yum humko mil jayenge...................Mein ne socha na tha.............to all the couples n couples to be and to those who hide their love in their hearts too.....................:)
it's anu signing off..........................
sasneham,
anu
