See the comments below the stories in Malaysiakini, Malaysia-Today, The Malaysian Insider etc on the High Court's verdict on Allah = God (= Jesus Christ?).
Already these commentators are saying that a higher court - the Appeals Court, the Federal Court - will overturn the the High Court's decision, ie if there is an appeal by the government.
In other words, they are behaving exactly like the opposition had done, time and again.
They accept a court's decision only if it backs their position.
And their position is simple: They must always win. 100 per cent of the time.
If they don't, then the court has been bought over, it is controlled by Umno, by narrow-minded Malays, the judges are corrupt.
If they won, Jesus Christ be praised, the truth prevails.
People do not want to see the danger in this, that I have repeated many many many times in this blog. You cannot go to the court, and accept only rulings that back your pleadings and theories.
If you do, then Malaysia is doomed, because you are saying the judges are corrupt. But mind you, if they won (the opposition, the NGOs, and now the church), then everything is fine with the courts.
With this kind of attitude, I wonder it is not time to just appoint Pakatan Rakyat politicians to become judges.
Because then Malaysia will always make court decisions that they could shout loudly from the rooftops as being fair.
This rant is not about today's court decision.
But about how Malaysians should see court judgements.
Oh yeah, Happy New Year.
Let me sulk at one corner.
Worrying about the future of a once-great economy.
