For Unto Us A Child Is Born

Happy Pink Saturday "Pinkies".

Pink Saturday is hosted by our lovely Ms. Beverly

@ How Sweet the Sound.

Click the link above to view her site with a list of many other Pink Saturday participants. Please take the time to go and visit all of the "Pinkies".

Today our lovely hostess Ms Beverly has asked us to share a favorite holiday tradition.

Away in a manger, No crib for His bed;

The little Lord Jesus, Laid down His sweet head.

The stars in the bright sky, Looked down where He lay;

The little Lord Jesus Asleep on the hay.

Now Ms Beverly asked us to tell about a holiday tradition. In 1982, Moma and Daddy gave to Tony and I the book shown below. It is the Christmas Story. That year we started a tradition of our own. Every year on Christmas Eve, DH, Tony sits down with the children or grand children, whomever is here, and he reads to them the Christmas Story from this book given to us in 1982. That now makes this book 27 years old. It looks as beautiful today as it did then.

This is the front cover. And below you will find the other pages that open in 3-d, and when the book is completely opened it forms a star.

There is nothing more special to me than to hear my beautiful DH, Tony, reading the Christmas story in our home to our children and grandchildren. This has been his job for the holidays for the last 27 years, and here is to the next 27 years. It brings my heart joy to hear him share the good book's words with our children and grandchildren. Someday I hope they share this tradition with their grandchildren. It would be lovely for generations to come.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert, that I so love to call home. Country hugs and much love,
