Update on Amy - Monday - August 3rd

God Has Answered Our Prayers!!

We have a surgery to prepare for!!!!

Dr. Medina was quite shocked when he saw how much weight Amy had lost and the fact that she has not eaten in over a week. She will be starting hyperal in the morning. This is a form of nutrition that is delivered into a vein. Hyperalimentation does not use the digestive system. It may be given to those undergoing high-dose chemotherapy or radiation and bone marrow transplantation. It is possible to give all of the protein, calories, vitamins and minerals a person needs using hyperalimentation. This will get her healthy and ready for the surgery. Dr. Medina is looking at 1 week from this Wednesday or the following Monday, but in the meantime she will be fed to prepare her body for the surgery. I am just so thrilled that God has answered our prayers, we have a surgery coming, lots of prayers to be said, and Amy is going to get fed. Praise God! Thank you Heavenly Father for answering our prayers. Thank you! Thank You! Now I know, when Debbie is able she will be posting, but I wanted to let you know the latest news, as we all have been waiting all day, and it has been a long day. They are all exhausted. Maybe tonight they will be able to rest somewhat, and tomorrow will see Dr. Dexius in Enid first thing, at the clinic. Thank you my friends, thank you. We are so happy right now, this is the best news we have heard in 14 months. We love each of you so much, and cannot begin to tell you how much we appreciate your prayers and your friendship at this difficult time in our lives. One day Amy will be able to write and tell you herself. I will get back to posting again too. I am sorry I have not responded to each post, but I too, am exhausted. Tonight it is early to bed. Thank you again from the bottom of hearts (Debbie's and mine). We love you all so much and cannot tell you how wonderful it is to have each one of you as our Sisters. We have quite the extended family in blogland. Love, Sherry
