Amy Is On Her Way To Surgery

My Precious Prayer Warriors. Amy is on her way to surgery. The Dr.s came in and talked to Amy, Debbie and Richard and gave them the following information. First of all they cannot put Amy to sleep while they do the tracheotomy. They will give her local(s) to numb the neck area. The tumor is obstructing the airway which we knew, and we also knew this would be a problem with intibation for the surgery, but we didn't expect her to be awake for the tracheotomy. Once they get her tracheotomy complete, they can bypass the airway and will be able to put her to sleep through the trach for the peg tube part of the surgery. She couldn't be going at a better time, as they said that the carbon dioxide gases were already building again today. We are so thankful that they are getting her into surgery now. When both surgeries are complete, Amy will be going to ICU for two days. By the end of the 5th day, they will begin teaching them how to cap off the trach. where she can talk and eat some amounts of soft food if she able to do so.

I wish I could say that Amy was not afraid, but she was very apprehensive about being awake during this procedure. Please pray to give her strength and courage to get through this scary moment, and the prayers to heal her as we move forward into her next journey. She has more than earned her wings. My brave little Angel Amy. We just love you so honey, and are praying for God to hold you in his arms tightly and remind you again how very much you are loved, and that everything is going to be okay.

Thank each of you for your prayers, your kindness and all of your thoughtfulness during this very difficult time for my family. We would never have made it without each and every one of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will post again when I hear from Debbie. I love you all so much. Sherry
