These are the leaves in Amy's Journey!!
Tonight I have more praises for you all. Amy has been moved from Trauma ICU to a room. She is breathing on her own. Her trach is only taking in room air. Her levels are great at this point. Her peg tube is feeding her. She is getting high nutrition supplement. Her catheter has been removed and she has been putting out urine, so her kidneys are working too. They got Amy up today and for the first time in months she was walked 5 steps. This was exhausting for her, but what a wonderful hurdle to jump just 1 day post. They are coming in later to teach Debbie how to take care of Amy's trach and her peg tube. How to suction, clean and irrigate. It is going to be a lot of information to take in, and Amy has to learn as well, so that she is not dependent on anyone, she can do these things herself. They still have a long way to go, but we are so thrilled to have progressed so well over the last 2 days. She is writing messages on her board and has even texted Heidi a few messages. Heidi and Amy are counting down days until Heidi can get there to be with Amy. Heidi and Tony will be leaving here early Saturday morning and should be in Oklahoma early Sunday sometime. They are driving straight through. Heidi is going to be with Amy in OKC, and Tony will go on to Enid to visit with my Daddy and Moma, after a visit with his favorite Niece, Amy.
Our prayers are being listened to prayer warriors. Amy has came so far. We know we have a long way to go, but God has given her a second chance. We know she is destined for GREAT things. I will update again tomorrow. Please remember Amy, Debbie, Richard and Richie as they go through this trying time in their lives. Help guide them Lord, and remind them they are never feeling their way in the dark. Let the light surround them. We just thank you Lord Jesus for this wonderful miracle you have shared with each and every one of us to remind us how "ALIVE" you truly are. In your name we pray tonight Amen and Amen.
Thank each and every one of you for your countless hours of prayers, your loving messages, and your butterfly kisses and teddy bear hugs. I could never have done this without you. Tonight I am turning in early for the first time in many weeks. My body is exhausted. I love you, Sherry
