"Amy Is Going To Surgery"

"We Need Your Prayers Sister Bloggers"

Our precious Amy Dawn, goes to surgery tomorrow. Oklahoma time, her surgery is at 1:30pm. It is going to make for a very long day. The surgery is scheduled for anywhere from 8-10 hours, possibly longer. They just do not know until they get in there. They did another PET Scan on Friday, showing the cancer tumor to be 5.(something) x 3.(something) centimeters in size and including the complete carotid artery. The surgery is going to be very complicated, a radical neck dissection will be the surgery performed, and following removal of the complete carotid artery there may be some arteries that have to be removed from the leg area, to replace in some of the neck area. There will also be skin grafts that have to be done to complete the procedure. I will post information as it is available to me, but we will probably not hear anything until late tomorrow evening. We do know she will be going to ICU indefinitely following the surgery tomorrow and that she will have a tracheotomy and a feeding tube indefintely.

Debbie is exhausted Sister blogger(s) so please remember her in prayer too. She is going to need a lot of strength to get through this. They are still unsure of where they are even going to be sleeping, for now it appears it will be in the waiting room. They were in hopes of getting some assistance from the Cancer Society but it looks like you have to ask 2 weeks in advance for hotel assistance and they did not have 2 weeks notice for this life saving surgery. We have a lot of faith and we know it will all work out. Just please pray for Amy and the family. We love you all. Your endless prayers have not gone unnoticed. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Our family always remembers those in need of prayer, and we would also like to ask you to pray for Tracie @ Beneath My Heart, here is her link:

Her Mom needs prayers. She has been diagnosed with stomach cancer that has spread to her liver. She has a biopsy on Thursday and then they will know more. She had been having trouble with her heart the past few months, so this diagnosis was completely unexpected. Please begin praying for this family.

Please remember Queenmother Mamaw's Daughter, Racheal. She has finally gotten to go home, but not without drainage tubes and a feeding tube, and she still needs many, many prayers for her road to recovery. Queenmothermamaw updates regularly so watch her blog for those updates on Rachel.

As always my dear Sister Blogger(s) thank you for stopping by my little piece of heaven, here in the desert, I so love to call home. I will be talking to you tomorrow. Country Hugs, Sherry
