Unesco says batik is Indonesian heritage - minister

Indonesia says Unesco has judged that the batik is its cultural heritage.
See Antara news here.
If true that Unescos has passed its judgement, how?
Will Malaysia now go to Unesco, or just don't care. Because the Indonesians have now won bragging rights, lah!

Just as this news came out, my colleague from India said there is also some type of batik in India.
Indeed, like the pendet dance that Bali claims is theirs, I think the batik and many other things came from a Big Brother in times past - India.
Remember the Borobodur? And how the island of Bali became Hindu (most of the rest of Indonesian and Malayan archipelago became Muslims. Due to Arab traders)?
This part of the world were before this Buddhist.
All surely from Indian influence in times past.

Lucky for us, India is not the type that wants to claim everything as theirs rather than something that our ancestors picked up from earlier cultures.
